Jason Avant Visiting Panthers Monday

stay on the field, run the clock, sustain drives, keep our defense off the fields, consistenly drive down the field, run the ball

the less our #2 defense is on the field, the less chance the other team has to score on our #2 D

last season was a little underwelming, considering we lacked personel to run what we want to run effectively. we lacked reliable recievers with good hands. we have them now, especially if we get avant. our playmaker should still be comming in the draft.

when we had to pass, win the game at the end, a lot of times we did.

I believe the run game is going to take a major load off the offense with the help of a younger OL. The running game will be top 5  with a 1 -2 punch by Stewart and Williams, while using Tolbert for short-yardage &  goal-line. This year's draft is deep at OT & WR, the two needed position on the offense. Cam's growth at the QB position should continue as he mastered the short & intermediate throws, and this season should see the return of the deep ball. The draft gives the Panthers a option to draft WR/TE combo that gives red-zone target and explosive plays. Overall I believe the 2014 offense is going to be a progression of the 2013 with improvements in: long drives, ball control,  4th down conversion, red-zone conversion, and explosive plays.  The 2014 team is going to be balanced, with the offense and defense playing a crucial role in each other success. The defense will improve with experience, and continue to provide 3 and out for  the offense to score.

lol Cam is gonna get killed running the ball this year, I think Gettleman deep down probably wants a pocket passer in the mold of Eli Manning back there, Gettleman always surrounded Eli with weapons

this offseason is just strange

Lafell is definitely better, the numbers back that up. Lafell doesn't suck. The problem with Lafell is that he flashes so much potential that it frustrates people when he disappears. I wouldn't be surprised if he was cut by the patriots, and I wouldn't be surprised if he got 1k yards and 10tds.

I'm not a Lafell hater.....I agree with you about being frustrated over Lafell's inconsistency and potential but at this point we can't pay what the Patroits did for him.

Gettleman didn't make those decisions in NY.

That's what gets me, people keep referring to his draft history in NY. He didn't have a draft history in NY, Reece did.

Yea, he really only has one year to judge off of. The Panthers organization as a whole has done a terrible job building around Cam, drafting only one offensive starter since drafting him. That's if you count Amini.

So you think Cam should be a game manager?

You're going on a tangent. The discussion is about the personell decisions being made, and I am defending them.

I agree, I don't think Cam should be a game manager. Its possible we continue with the conservative philosophy until we are able to bring in explosive weapons without further damaging our cap long term
