So what's our offensive philosophy? Trust me I'm going somewhere with this.

stay on the field, run the clock, sustain drives, keep our defense off the fields, consistenly drive down the field, run the ball

the less our #2 defense is on the field, the less chance the other team has to score on our #2 D

last season was a little underwelming, considering we lacked personel to run what we want to run effectively. we lacked reliable recievers with good hands. we have them now, especially if we get avant. our playmaker should still be comming in the draft.

when we had to pass, win the game at the end, a lot of times we did.

He did? I only remember him starting at RT for the first couple of plays for a couple games.

I imagine he subbed in when gross needed a play or so. Lineman take less plays off but they still do need their breathers.

You don't know me or my life so don't pretend to. I don't have to know more than Dave Gettleman, but he does have to know more than Ozzie Newsome.

He does know more, that's why he cut a mercurial 35 year old WR and Newsome picked him up on a 3 year contract.

The heart of this team is defense. I think we all know that. Our defense kept teams at around 15 pts per game last season. Our offense just needs to score 17+ pts and we can win alot of games. We tagged Hardy so we are broke but at least we shored up what made us great last season. Id rather have a big part of our defense from last year come back than a couple of new #2 WRs.

Keep in mind. If you look at our entire team and not focusing on just the bad things or weaknesses we are in great position to get back to the playoffs. We have one of the best defenses out there and we have Cam. Those 2 combinations should propel the team back into the playoffs. I am not too worried because we have the draft to shore up OL and WR. Honestly going into the season I am fine with the WRs we have already so I am hoping for improvements in OL.

Chandler was near perfect in preseason at LT, now he has a year on the OL, no reason not to give him a shot. Great size, very athletic, strong. They'll work on technique and put him in a good position.

That does little to ease the fact we might be starting a DT at LT, or Bell for that matter at LT. I would be ok if this was our only option after injuries but to start a group like this has disaster wrote all over it.

So you think Cam should be a game manager?

i have no problem signing the guy but what people lack to understand is were putting A LOT of faith in the draft more then i would like to, to fill two of the biggest holes on the team. WR i'm not so much worried about but our o line situation is a big ? even with the draft.

there's a lot of ways this offseason could have went, but just to play devil's advocate here's one way.

the same people saying smith release gives mcnutt and king a chance to shine and free up some cap, it can also be debated that letting hardy walk would give guys like alexander, horton, and addison a chance with saving a ton of cap, cap that could have been used for more tier 2 FA's. The big difference is that guys like Alexander,Horton, and addison have shown at times they can fill that role, Hardy age is the only key factor in it all, but by letting him walk you could have filled multiple holes. Leaving the draft wide open for bpa, in the current situation i don't think we have that luxury
