Worst case scenario we draft someone that's just depth in the first few rounds. Kind of like Barner last year, never having a chance with our crowded backfield.

I think this is a very under appreciated point. All if the depth at our positions of need means we should be able to draft for needs without reaching. Even Moses at 28 isn't a huge reach - I hope we go in a different direction but it's a defensible pick.

What would be indefensible would be a GM falling in love with his magic draft board and failing to get young talent that we desperately need at WR, OT, and DB because he's got linebackers and running backs a couple of a slots higher on his overall board. Luckily, I don't think Gettleman will do that.

I got to thinking of the possibility of all our favorite WRs and Ts being gone by 28, which is a frighteningly real possibility. Who would we pick?

Now, the nightmare scenario. Let's say pick 28 rolls around and all the first round WRs we covet (Watkins, Evans, Lee, Cooks, OBJ, Benjamin) are gone, as well as first round tackles. Heck, even Morgan Moses is gone! Let's say those top 3 TEs are gone also, as well as the top 2 corners and safeties.

Who or what is plan B, besides the obvious trade back attempt? Who would you take at 28?

Edit: I'm thinking maybe an OLB if one of the top guys falls due to all the other positions being drafted, or a slight reach for Jordan Matthews.

Someone will be there......it is all about the math. We have multiple positions of need and if anything I finally see us in a position to move down a few spots.

Best player available and a player who fits your scheme go hand in hand. He's your highest rated player because he fits into what you are trying to do on offense or defense.

It's actually not a cop out and furthermore it creates a lot of blithering idiots shouting from rooftops.

Watch what happens if we pick shazier in the first if he is our highest rated player. This place will go bonkers.

hes saying this class is super deep at wide receiver and in most years, matthews would be considered a top 3 receiver and thus not a reach in the first round
