Saints sign Champ Bailey

Champ was on Underwoood the year before when Bucs played Denver and Underwood was shutout with no catches against Champ. Of course, if Underwood is your best WR, he's going to get covered by Lewis.

We'll see if you make the necessary adjustments to compete with us. Upgrading your secondary isn't the answer.

signs with panthers- future hofer, will be a beast with front seven

signs with iants-  beyond old, horrible, injuryprone

I disagree. Would not have wanted him here if he begged to come and play for vet min.

He was a complete liability in the playoff game vs. Baltimore. Looked two steps slower than their receivers. Now he's even older with injury issues. No thanks.

By not signing and paying guys whose best days are years in the past G man is setting us up to be contenders for years to come fools. Please stop your whining.

The goal is to win a Super Bowl, consistent winning is great, but if you never win a Super Bowl what have you accomplished? We were 12-4 and some bad calls of way from going to Seattle and then who knows what happens. We go from that to almost what you can call rebuilding. Makes 0 sense.

Compete?

First off, the defense missing a lot of key guys and playing its first year in a new scheme held Panthers to 13 and 17 both games, pretty similar performances. Getting rid of some terrible guys like a Smith, Jenkins and Harper and replacing them with guys like Byrd and Bailey while returning injured guys like Butler points to a defense that should have improved.

On offense, the Saints blew out the Panthers D in first game, and moved the ball easily in second game, but the first NFL start of Armstead giving up sacks and penalties directly led to lack of points on 5 different drives during the first half. Those are the same drives that finished for point the first meeting. By second half Armstead was solid and making Hardy irrelevant, just like the benched guy Harris did to Hardy the 1st game in dome.

So far Panthers defense has downgraded and lost its best WR on one of the leagues worst offenses. Not sure it's Saints that need to keep up, but rather Panthers need to keep up with rest of NFCS. The Falcons and Bucs probably won't be easy wins next year.

You were probably one of the same people laughing at the Panthers secondary before last year yet they finished as the #2 Defense. They only lost 2 secondary players from a secondary that most people claimed was the weak link on their defense so how is having a bad secondary going to "downgrade" the Panthers defense again?

None of your moves are scaring me. We will see how the season goes.
