Marqise Lee Visiting Panthers

SEASON REC YDS AVG LNG TD

2013 57 791 13.9 80 4

2012 118 1721 14.6 83 14

2011 73 1143 15.7 59 11

He and Watkins were 1A and 1B when the season started pre-injury and the dude was a beast in 2012.....won the Biletnikoff and came in 4th for the Heismann. Last year he was playing through injuries that he never rested or allowed to heal. Not saying Lee is the best player in this draft, but if he's sitting there at 28, we need to run the envelope to the podium. Doubt he makes it to is, so this is a moot point...haha. Ever since that game with Stanford last year, I've been sold on him.

Drops are easy to fix. All it takes is hard work, concentration, and good coaching. Easy peasy.

Lee has average speed, questionable hands, coming off injury, and would be a huge reach at 28. But let's not say anything bad about him. LOL.

Everyone has "Concentration" drops. Dropping 1 out of 8 passes isn't a lapse in concentration. It is a lack of it. LOL

Sorry that I want more from my WR than what Lee seems to bring. But hey. Keep them vids, welps, and derps coming. It has been lousy weather round here. I need something to keep my spirits up.

I do feel so special. That lil ol' me. Who has already claimed to know next to nothing about Lee. Can elicit this much attention form the Lee fanboys. Man, I love this place.

How bout this, if you know next to nothing about Lee you probably shouldn't be trying to give a scouting report on him. Just a thought you know....

Oh and again, using 2013 stats only to illustrate your point shows just how clueless you truly are.

iirc you're a USC fan or familiar with the program. I never watch USC so I ask how does Lee stack up to previous WRs from USC or other players you've seen play

Better than Woods as player imo. Miles better in terms of a worker and love for the game then DJ or KC. Doesn't have the god given ability (size mainly) that DJ had, but has the desire to be great and love for the game despite only playing for 5 yrs now.

The thing with Lee is he's going to continue to get better. He's relatively new to the game of football, and he's still so young. So yes, he will get better catching the football, playing through press, learning to box out defenders on 50-50 balls etc. He's already an extremely polished route runner and despite what iamhubby says an explosive player capable of taking the top off a Defense. Great leaping ability, quickness, explosiveness off the line and vision in the open field. My biggest concerns for him would be learning how to be more physical against the press, and he's got a bit of all or nothing mentality that can bite him at times. Not worried about his hands tbh, because they weren't an issue in 2011 or 2012 which everyone seems to forget. Would be a steal at 28 imo.

How about this? Why not quit taking everything personally? Dude, it is a message board. Not congress. Damm.

Why does it matter so much to you that I am not a Lee fan? Take a deep breath, relax, and don't read my clueless drivel.

Lee may be an option in the later rounds. Avg. speed and size, too many drops, (For what ever reason.) and that pesky USC in his resume. I just don't happen to think he is worth taking a chance on at the top of the draft.

You made a shitty series of posts regarding Lee, admitted to knowing "next to nothing" about him and got called out on it. Move along and let people who do know about Lee (things he excels at, needs to work on, that he's explosive etc) have a grown up discussion about why he would be an excellent pick at 28.

you guys do remember the last wr we said wasn't "explosive" enough right...........but that guy was a good route runner

keenan allen

let's not get too caught up in injuries and speed.......

But let us not use 1 player to paint a broader picture. Let's be honest. The best college WRs have difficulty translating to the pro game. Although it does/can happen. You just can't predict where it will happen. So...as most NFL teams are conservative by nature. Those reaches are far and few between.

Teams want starters. Especially the first two picks. You take who you trust in the first couple rounds. And hope you can hit it big it in the later rounds.

We are lucky in that we have a pretty good scouting staff. Led by Gman, we have some good talent evaluators. If last years draft repeats. We will find talent. Where that talent will play is the biggest concern around here.

Well, aren't you special. What happens if I don't recede into the background? You gonna tell Zod? Damm dude. It is a message board. People tend to write messages up in here. If you are going to take everything so cereally, you are going to spend a whole lot of time pissing and moaning at folks.

I was giving you a hard time about your perceived hard on for Lee. Take it for what it was worth. Fun for me, not so much for you.

Also, now that you have gone and got all uppity. Please try and be somewhat civil when you do call me out for not liking your homeboy. Mkay? I have been nothing but pleasant with you. I would appreciate the same courtesy.

Two South Park references in one post. New personal best. Yea! And there was great rejoicing.

Oh, oh, oh, I almost forgot. Lee at 28? LOL. He ain't going in the first two rounds. Let alone the first. LOL again.

Move along, nothing to see here. 3 SP, woowhoo.

I am through with this one. A Cousin Vinny reference. Damm, I'm on a roll.

I wanted Allen so bad last year. The thing I liked about Allen is that he dominated while at Cal despite sub-par QB play. His 1/2 brother was the QB and he was not nearly as good at QB as Keenan was at WR. Still no team could really stop Allen his last year. He physically dominated the PAC10 and often completely took over games.

I like Lee, but I am not sure Lee dominated like Allen. Maybe because USC had more talent than Cal so Lee didn't have too. So Lee's hands, route running, knowledge of the game become more important for me than say a Benjamin. That said, I could live with Lee at 28.
