First Week of Training Camp Wrap-Ups

Dline coach is very hands on. Brown made a nice move to get inside a blocker and the coach smack him on the arse and praised him before he was even standing upright again.

WR's seem to be dropping a lot of on target throws, perhaps still just rusty.

It's wicked hot out here and there is zero breeze, it's a scorcher for sure. I would almost guarantee we lose a few guys to the heat today.

Delhomme's throws look very good, I also like that the qb coach was trying to strip the qbs while they weren't looking just going throw warm up drills. You can see that Cantwell doesn't have the arm strength as the others. It's easy to see the difference I. The velocities.

Stewart looks good and nimble, if possible it looks like his legs are even thicker than last year.

Goodson does look very fast.

Now this is my kind of camp update...thanks JOAT.

I don't think very highly of Landon Johnson, so I loved seeing Robinson make it to the second level.

So it's a run play up the middle and Robinson breaks past the dl, Johnson breaks down, gets low and moves towards Duke. Fractions of a second later they collide and while Johnson had the speed, position and leverage he got swallowed by Duke, Robinson didn't even break a sweat or stride and Johnson was left flat oN his ass, it was beautiful. Talk about a mismatch.

As usual JOAT, we can count on you for informative updates.

Thanks for the effort and time.

JOAT...how does the Defense look? Are they struggling to pick up what meeks is trying to implement?

I know everyone is concerned that the offense seems to be running on them. However, we have a great set of RB's and a fantastic OL. We will run over most defenses.

AkeJake made several awesome throws thru tight, double cvg.

Marshall had some nice pass break ups, looks more comfortable outside than as the NB.

Munnerlyn had a couple of nice plays as well, reads and reacts well with good burst to close.

Otah and Robinson were doing what loooked like voluntary sprints after practice, so was Jarrett.

Again, I really like the coaching changes, there is a noticable upbeat, but serious undertone to everything. Look very focused.

You can see the emphasis on swarming to the ball on d, they look pissed at all times.

So he's the same guy as he has always been huh? I always love those but they make most people cringe. :) Arm look zippy as last year in TC? I watched the week 17 NO game again recently and he was on the money throwing though all a lot of people want to talk about Smitty bailing him out on the one pass.

I am glad Scherer is beating on him about stuff he can fix though.

more fuel..to the munnerlyn fire..lol

one thing is that people said the only reason we drafted him was to be a KR/PR..but has he even been doing that.

My observations:

Peppers is scary good. Still only looks like full effort 60% of time :-(. Johnson looks big time also. At this point I think he should start over Brayton.

Munnerlyn reminds of Ricky manning Jr. But with more speed and better break on ball. You know, not so sucky.

Jarret is Huge. Looks bigger than 6'4. We should just be lob passes to him in the endzone like all day.

Goodson looks really quick. Looks to have descent hands too.

The 4th wide reciever job looks to be a toss up to me. Beavers has been looking the hungriest, but Carter looks good too. I'm probably not the best judge.

Steve Smith is STEVE SMITH. I understand why Jake forces the ball to him.

Our offensive line are maulers. Absolute Maulers. Especially Otah.

Hoover isn't giving up the FB position this year.

Jakes arm looks good, however can you do Tommy John surgery on someones brain?
