Lies, damn lies and statistics. He had 5 int's as a MLB, 3 sacks, 11 PD's . 2nd team all pro. He has had a solid a career as you could hope for.

He has been the glue that has held that shitty D together for years.

If you honestly believe Fletcher didn't have a good year I don't know what to say.

I'm sure you can find negative stats for Keek last year if you wanted too. Still won DPOY.

But why are you just judging INTs and Batted passes? What about all the other coverage snaps? What about the yards he given up? What about the catches? What about the QB percentage?

Three sacks? Awesome,but what about all the other pass rushing snaps? Three sacks is good, but if he got that in 90 attempts is it that noteworthy? That's 87 other snaps your not using to judge his pass rushing ability. Why use three plays to judge out of 90?

See the problem? Your using 19 ( albeit impressive plays) out of 1110 to argue that he played great. Thats such a small percentage to use. I'm not saying don't use them, but there's a lot more snaps and stats that cover them that should be noted in conjunction with yours to get a more accurate picture.

But look this thread has gone from DeCoud to Pro bowl to arguing over Fletcher. If I've failed in my last to convince you and others then I suppose we' ll all have to agree to disagree. Have a good night.

DeCoud is a little bit better than Godfrey in coverage. Signing him would give us advantage over Godfrey meaning Godfrey will have to take a paycut.

Maybe, Rivera is really going to move Godfrey to the nickle full time; cornerback at Iowa.

NICKLE: Charles Godfrey

SS: Roman Harper / Robert Lester

FS: Thomas DeCoud / Colin Jones

Would love to see we bring in Terrell Thomas still.

before the end of the season Lester may be a starter if he keeps at the rate he was last season.

I would love this signing.  Two former enemy safeties in Harper and DeCoud coming together to play with our top notch defense.  One is good at run support, the other has ball hawking skills.  If we double dip at receiver in the draft, we will definitely make a good push at a playoff run.  Just have to see what they do with this O-line.

Our starting safeties could be a former Falcon and a former Saint :lol:

this has me less than thrilled. i'm nit a fan of really either guy, but beggers can't be choosey. this is the type poo you've got to deal with when you put yourself in a situation where you're forced to shop at the dollar tree.

Free agent safety Thomas DeCoud arrives in Charlotte on Sunday for a two-day visit with the Panthers. DeCoud, a Pro Bowler with Atlanta two years ago, struggled with the rest of the Falcons’ defense in 2013. But DeCoud – like newcomer Roman Harper – has a vast knowledge of the NFC South.
