Thomas DeCoud Visiting Monday

Just get Godfrey's current contract out. Replacing him with a former Pro-Bowler who may be able to return to form here, for a fraction of the price? All for it.

Godfrey ranks in the bottom of the lg in production, is paid like a top 5 safety...coming off an achillies injury that a hard working guy like Jon Beason still is gimpy from...lead the league for 4 straight season of getting yelled at by his cbs where he was out of position or biting on playaction.

Id say what the frick are we waiting for?! Cut his ass he offers zero at this point and his salary makes him a negative.

this is insurance for godfrey and bargaining power. if godfrey doesnt want to take what dave is offering, well panthers have a option. decloud like harper have vast knowledge of the division and how they attacked panthers offensive. knowledge is priceless.

Everyone saying no were probably the same guys who said no to mike mItchell who was a nobody but a second round bust in Oakland! This guys actually a pro bowl safety, and with this front seven he only needs to be average like Mitchell was. I'm for it! And cut Godfrey save that $$$.

DeCoud has been awful. We have a great front seven that helped the likes of Mitchell and Mikel but neither have been as bad at DeCoud before coming here.

He had a down year for sure. But any S would look like trash behind what ATL had out there last year. I don't think Nolan's scheme played to his strengths either, he's a better zone than man guy. We saw with Revis how that can affect the best of them.

MItchell missed a ton of tackles last year too FWIW.

Good point made! Mitchell led the leagues safeties with 18 missed tackles! Not saying he didn't play well he did obviously but I stil believe our front seven makes any average safety or corner look a lot better than they actually are.

these made up stories about Godfrey are hilarious...........you guys speculate too much if he's not taking a pay cut or restructuring his ass is grass,DG has cut people for less what makes you think he will let Godfrey hold our cap for ransom

quit overreacting godfrey isn't that bad, and DG isn't that stupid(i hope)

He was bad in 2012 as well.  A bad front seven certainly can make your performance drop off, but it shouldn't drop to the extent it did for DeCoud. Obviously I'll cede talent judgment to our GM. DeCoud has been solid in years past, but the past two he has been anything but.
