This would be a great signing. I'm not sure if it would mean the end of Godfrey, but it would certainly help with some extra cash.

The dude was garbage last year. He is afraid to tackle and is soft. I think every Falcons fan would agree.

 And yet he has always been better than Godfrey. Godfrey has been one of the worst safeties in the league and gets paid handsomely for it. Bringing him in for a bargain should work fine. I am really starting to get Gettleman's approach. Fill needs with cheap experience and build your team with the draft. It will take a few years but it should fall into place really nicely going forward.

We do. Maybe Carolina's front 7 makes him better in coverage, but do not expect a player that can/likes/or is willing to make a tackle. His backup was a 6th rounder from ND, and we didn't bat an eye at cutting him loose.

Went from hero to goat in 1 season. Always thought he was one of ATL better players. 1 year removed from pro bowl status when ATL lost any rush they had at all and that wasn't a whole lot to begin with. All they had was Abraham the previous year.

DeCoud is a little bit better than Godfrey in coverage. Signing him would give us advantage over Godfrey meaning Godfrey will have to take a paycut.

Maybe, Rivera is really going to move Godfrey to the nickle full time; cornerback at Iowa.

Gettlemen is doing it with mirrors again.  What do the new guys have in common?  They are all coming off bad seasons or injuries or bad seasons when they were injured.

Still, I would not be surprised to see us grab a S in the draft--earlier than people think.

Bringing him in for a visit doesn't mean he will be signed or end up being a starter or even making the final roster. It's experienced competition at the very least.

Wish DG gave Major Wright a look. He had a bad year last year but wasn't really healthy. Was good the season before.

 

As for DeCoud, most of that D was trash, so it's hard to fully judge him. Decent upside on minimal salary. I'm for it.
