Could have signed Tedd Ginn back he was affordable, we told Steve Smith to go away while still paying him and we told Nicks to take less money to go somewhere else. That ain't cap hell, that's Gettlemam hell.

Meanwhile the huddle thinks market price is overpaying.

Ginn is paid twice as much as Cotchery.

I'd have to look at the details of the contracts again, but I think Cotchery this year will make 3.5 million, which would be more in 2014 than Ginn's deal. I know Cotchery's deal is for five years, and has a few voidable years though. I'm not certain about Ginn's, I think it's more evenly distributed.

Cotchery's total cap hit is $1.7 million this year. 1.95 next year. The team has an option for the remaining 3 years.

Ginn's cap hits are 2.25, 4 and 4.

Does that include the signing bonus?

Jerricho Cotchery's deal with the Panthers is for five years and $8.015 million.
The deal includes a $2.25 million signing bonus, and pays Cotchery a total of $3.5 million in 2014. The final three years are "voidable," and exist for the sole purpose of spreading out Cotchery's cap hit. It's an indication of how truly dire Carolina's cap situation is. For the moment, Cotchery is Cam Newton's No. 1 receiver. Mar 20 - 5:56 PM

Hardy will get somewhere between 12-15 per yr in my opinion. Whatever it is we are not saving money from the tag price. We will have 2 elite DE's for a few yrs then Johnson will either take a cut or be cut. (at this moment I prefer Johnson over Hardy if I could only have one. He is more consistent and is very solid versus the run and as a pass rusher)

I'm hoping we can resign Cam for 17-20 instead of 20-25 which I think it will actually be.

Luke is the contract I'm not sure about. I don't know what the top end MLB contracts are but he will get whatever he ask for.

When the RB's, Godfrey, and dead money is off the books we will be OK resigning our players, and add/paying our future LT. With a dominant front 7 we can slack on secondary and consistently draft young guys and play them through the rookie contracts. Receivers will be needed but I don't feel you need a dominating WR but have a solid group and rely on your QB finding the open man. Also never resign RB's just play them through rookie deals and then draft new ones in rounds 3-6 and sign old cheap vets.

Tedd Ginn wasn't that great as a WR. He was good for 1 long ball play every 3 games. No consistent play from him at all. He isn't worth 3.5mil a year. The good news is that this team is largely still the 12-4 team from last year. Front 7 still there. Secondary remains unchanged for the most part. If our d can keep other teams at around 15 pts a game we will win alot of them.
