DeSean Jackson agrees to terms with Redskins

Weren't they under a 2 year financial penalty and could barely sign any FAs? You see, that crap you typed probably sounded so well in your head but it's myth. By the way, this isn't baseball. They have a cap like everyone else. They just managed it better than us. Stop hating.

Snyder is famous for overspending for underperforming players  and doing a lousy job running the team.  Skins fans should be happy that they were under a penalty.  It kept Snyder from doing his yearly splurge and made the team be fiscally responsible. Now that they are no longer under the penalty they had some cap room.  Won't be long before Snyder is back to his old ways though.

I have no idea where people get the notion that Cam Newton is respected or liked around the league. Newton is barely respected on the Huddle, and I would say 70% of people on the Observer cannot stand Newton and actively root for him to fail. And this is when Cam is doing reasonable well and the Panthers are winning.

Outside of Charlotte? Or outside of Panthers forums? Lol let's just say people need to wait until the season begins and go visit the boards of our upcoming opponent. I can assure you Newton gets anything but respect.

you're wrong.

But I get a sense that you don't care, cause you're wrong so often.

You guys love to hate on players the panthers don't sign. Desean Jackson is a game changer, period end of story.

No he wasn't a game changer.  A guy who touches the ball 4 or 5 times a game by definition is hardly a game changer.  Even with him the Eagles went 10-6 in a poor division.  And go back and see if I made any posts saying I wanted him to sign here.  I will give you a hint, I didn't and wouldn't.  He had a good year no doubt but the reason for career numbers was the offense the Eagles ran and the number of overall offensive snaps which inflated everyone's stats.  Stats he won't recreate for the Redskins and surely wouldn't here.  I would much rather get a difference making tight end to pair with Olsen and use a 2 tight end set much like NE did.  I want someone who is involved with the run game and pass game not just one or the other.  So no I didn't think Jackson was that great and after the whining about money he is the last guy I wanted here.

And he's still cheaper than Deangelo Williams.

That is how teams can manipulate the cap.  His 4.2 million cap hit is because his signing bonus of 5 million is prorated and he gets a little salary this year. There are two 4.25 million guaranteed bonuses in 2015 and 2016 plus his salary so his cap hit is right at 10 million those years.  The 2017 voidable year also keeps his numbers down this year but goes up if he isn't around.

They did a good job with his contract.  Lets see how long it is before he starts complaining about it though.

The definition of a game changer isn't a guy who touches the ball plenty of times...not sure how you came up with that.

Percy Harvin for example had how many touches in the Super Bowl? but he changed that game with his ability to take any touch he does get to the house.

That is what a game changer is...someone who can flip the score or have a dramatic impact on the game on 1 play from anywhere...not someone who gets 10 catches per game.

His play making ability on STs also add to his game changing ability.

The rest of the stuff I pretty much agree with but you can't, with a straight face, say Jackson isn't a game changer.

To piggy back off your last portion....his career WR stats aren't even all that impressive, it's his all around contributions that make him dangerous. He isn't going to be "the man" in Washington regardless of what his ego may say...that suites him much better, the explosive complimentary WR that demands attention.

If he were to come play for the Panthers as the supposed #1 WR then it would not have worked out, he's not that guy. I think some on here believe he could lead a WR squad...you obviously don't think that and it's true he isn't going to.

His yards per reception is REALLY good and he an explosive compliment to any offense, that's

Most of the Redskin fans here in Richmond hate this signing and him lol.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

I have two friends, both of which are big 'Skins fans, who love this move.

I also think the Redskins and their fans, never learn their lesson. They have a knack for spending big time money on free agents and not getting much out of it. Snyder knows little about chemistry and watch this move blow up in their face. The Eagles don't wash their hands clean of a guy like that for nothing, unless there is a lot more going on there.
