Here's the thing about BPA. Your strengths don't stay your strengths forever and your weaknesses don't stay your weaknesses forever. I know some of you are gonna say ok so we should draft a QB then if he's the BPA and if that's your initial thought kill yourself because you are garbage and not worth discussing things like a grown up.

We were weak as hell at DT for years and one draft made that an area of strength for us. We are good at DE now, but if we traded Hardy or CJ or one of them got hurt, we'd be realistically stacked with unknowns with Addison and Alexander.

We love our linebackers, but Thomas Davis is entering the twilight of his career with 3 ACL surgeries and a monster cap hit next season, so who knows what the FO will want to do with him. If Steve Smith was expendable, anybody can be let go.

We all bitch and moan about the contracts given to our billion dollar backfield, but if they're released simultaneously and Kenjon Barner is fumbling the ball every game, you'll hear about our needs at RB real fuging quick.

This is the essence of the NFL and why successful teams draft good players, mostly regardless of their position, because the NFL is a fluid league where your roster is constantly evolving so you don't truly know what you'll need year by year. You remedy that by adding good football players to your team regardless of their position. That's how you build sustained success.

We drafted Everett Brown with our first pick while negotiating a Peppers contract. Fast forward to Hardy situation..... Just saying.....

Sent from the Carolina Huddle App

And it was a major mistake back then. Also the move was done at a time when Rucker was at to the end of his career. So that could have been a reason as well.

No long term deal for Hardy is a major mistake by Gettelmen. To many players lost due to his franchising and to much money not to have a long term deal done before July.

CJ may not be here next year simply because we have to pay Hardy and Johnson is due a ton. It would make sense in my opinion. The Giants drafted Pierre-Paul with their first round pick. I'm sure that they don't regret that move.

Even if he doesn't we still have a lot of young depth and next years draft and FA period to replace him.

With the dire straits we are at WR, and Oline I can't see drafting a player who might not even start his 1st year in the 1st round. When you can get for sure day 1 starters at positions of need in the 1st 3 rounds of this draft.

I wouldn't be surprised if we draft a RB in the 3 to 7 rounds ... I would go d end if the big named online wr cb and safety's were gone other wise I prefer other players I believe dg has a plan
