I can see Hardy not signing any long term contract.   Letting this $13M tag play its course and then testing FA next off-season,  hearing some huge offers and then taking them back to the Panthers so they can try to either meet those offers or get extremely close to them.

 

This will be like another contract year for him,  in '14.

I suspect a long term will get done, it is just a matter of Hardy being willing to recognize that there are no more Johnson contracts after several years of flat caps. He can still make more money in a 3 or 4 year period than most of us will see in a lifetime.

I'm pretty sure the 13 mil he's making this year alone, is more than most see in a lifetime
