I met Jimmy Clausen last night

He was at Bevmo near his old high school in Westlake Village, CA looking for a nice bottle of champagne for a wedding.

I went up to him and told him that I am a huge panther fan and sat through the 2-14 season and always cheered him on and wished for the best. He was appreciative because I'm sure he never gets that, especially in our home town.

Totally wanted to take a selfie but he was with his mom and they seemed busy.

Just thought I'd share :jimmy:

My fav part of this is that Im expecting every thread to be an april fools joke.

Yet this one i beleived from the first word. No one would waste 5 minutes of their life making up a jimmy c story.

You shoulda just snapped a pic with his mom

He should have got a selfie with you.   Twitter:  Proof that Mom is not my only fan.

Seriously, I will always wonder if we didn't break him.  We put him in a situation with 2 rookie, mid to late-round WRs, a scrub OL, and a terrible OC.

He was beaten up so badly--be DEs and fans---that I really think it mentally ruined him.  It is easy to sit there and say, "He needs to be tough and take it...etc"  but at 21 years of age, could you?

even in the armpit of the 2010 season i couldn't hate him

he was drafted by a GM on a long cold streak and was playing for a head coach who didn't want him and wouldn't have cared if he got run over by one of the TV cranes on the sidelines.  through all this i don't remember him bitching to the media or acting like the diva he supposedly was.

Clausen was not mentally ready before he even stepped on the field. That team was 2-14 because of Jimmy Clausen. Sure we had a weak o-line but we still had Steve Smith, LaFell, and a David Gettis that wanted to play football.

The team was not the reason Clausen would never throw down field. All he ever did was check down. He simply played like a chicken and didn't want to throw picks. That same squad was competitive with Matt Moore at QB. He's the guy we should feel sorry for.
