I dug the episode. Sure, a lot of set-up, but necessary set-up. We heard a lot about how Slade's army is bigger than we first thought...and we saw that.

Love that this is going to be a large scale, city-wide thing by Slade rather than a concentrated effort against Ollie. The flashbacks didn't really offer much in the way of the time on the island other than that guy from the ship decided to go all heroic because he's dying anyway. Hopefully, the next two episodes show more in the flashbacks (though, I get the point of the lessons learned then being applied now by Ollie).

This week also might have seemed weaker given how strong last week ended.

I think next week is going to get very epic.

Also, I REALLY don't want them to be trying to hint at Laurel being Red Arrow. Let Roy take that next season. The whole scene with her and the bow in her red coat was just....no. Let's not do that.

Why would they do that? It's not like he's been wearing a red sweatshirt since we've met him

Yeah, I know. But the way they showed him struggle to get the bow right before the falling out with Oliver, and then showed Laurel able to draw it (with damn near perfect form, mind you) in this episode, as well as have her become understanding of Oliver and Sara's role in the city and a part of "the plan", it just SEEMS strange.

If anything, they'll do it right and have Laurel become BC. Just upset that we don't have Red Arrow for the finale, more than anything. But I'll take Roy'd Rage.

The finale was beautiful. Just beautiful. Such a solid episode in literally every regard.

We have Red Arrow now (well, according to producers, he will take on the Arsenal role, which is fine as well), we have the hint that Laurel becomes the new BC, we have an interesting twist with Malcolm and Thea, and now we're getting into post-Slade island flashback drama with him apparently ending up in Hong Kong. Really interested to see how he ended up back on the island after going there, so next season should dole out some interesting pre-returning to Starling City plot.

Next season can't come fast enough. The only thing I am worried about is keeping the momentum. Season 1, we had Oliver returning home to take care of The List. Season 2 saw the return of Slade/Deathstroke into his life. Season 3....well, could be anything. They just have to produce another big time villain. Since this is the CW, I could see them going with Cupid. Really flesh out the Laurel/Oliver romance with that. And, it'd fit nicely with the tone of the show and the apparent need for a romantic angle. Onomatopoeia would be comically awesome, but I doubt they'd use him (the costume alone would make it awesome enough though).

Regardless, this show delivers. Very pleased. I only hope that Flash is good and Gotham pans out. DC has gripping stories, if they use them right, and are great for TV. Hopefully, the other endeavors work out so most of my TV is comic related.
