I really wish folks would stop acting as if there is only one way to win in the NFL: the Seahawks way.

The Broncos came within one game of winning it all this year and next year they will be favored to compete again. If the Broncos win the SB this year, the next off season everyone will be like:

OMG, we need to best offense to win

OMG, we need a star QB in which the offense revolves around

OMG, we need to grab the best free agents

OMG, we need an amazing WR core with a No. 1 WR

OMG, we need a NFL Head Coach not college one

OMG, we don't need an amazing defense

OMG, its okay to spend 1/3 of our cap on the QB position alone

and on and on...

Just two short seasons ago everyone was certain the only way to win a SB was to have a superstar QB in a high octane offense with talent everywhere on offense. Everyone said that college coaches couldn't win in the NFL and that you could win with a subpar defense.

Now folks act like ONLY the Seahawks way is the only way to win. Because the Seahawks had this...well we must have that...because the Seahawks didn't have that...well we don't need it either.

The Seahawks will try to cover up any weaknesses they have and get better. If Carroll sees he has a whole in the WR core, he will TRY to fill it...not because he necessarily wants his offense to turn into the Broncos but because he realizes the less weaknesses his team has the better chance for victory.

This nonsense that it is okay to have a glaring, gigantic hole at WR position and its okay to not TRY to fix it as best as possible within the cap and draft restraints we have-- is all kinds of stupid. If the Seahawks have a glaring, gigantic hole ANYWHERE on their rosters, within the cap and draft restraints, best believe they will TRY to fix it with the best personnel possible.

So what you are saying is. As this is a copycat league, and Seattle just won the Super Bowl without the services of a true #1WR. Why can't we?

I say, cuz you know. We are the Panthers. We have never had back to back winning seasons. That kinda stuff just doesn't work for us.

We had better hope you can win with a rag tag group of WR. Cuz it is looking as though that may be what we are looking at this year.
