NFC scout: Evans made Manziel / AFC Exec: Ebron, ASJ overrated.

I use to be sooooo into the draft process. I would know every single prospect from top to bottom, every season. Make dozens of mock drafts, argue with people all day regarding my draft opinions, and then when draft time came around I would just sit back in shock at the things that occur over those 3 days.

And I guess that's the fun of it. But after the last draft, it finally hit me. This is all SO unpredictable, you can't believe ANYTHING you here because there is so much false or fabricated information. Not only that but we, as fans have absolutely NO say or affect on ANYTHING, nor do we understand how to scout and draft players for a franchise.

So this year, I haven't paid attention at all. I know the names of the top 50 or so prospects out of pure curiosity, but I did not fully engage in the draft shenanigans like I usually do. It's saved me a lot of time, effort, and I won't be so shocked/confused when it's draft weekend. I highly suggest you all take the same route.

Football is 24/7, 365. It's certainly not healthy to make pre-draft speculation the end-all-be-all of life and I sure don't, but it's hard to turn off and last year was pure joy after wanting/wishing/hoping for so long for Star. It's part of the ride of being a diehard fan IMO.

4.5 in bicycle shorts and a tank top isnt his game speed. He's a long strider, but just doesn't move as fast as a number one should. Still a real good player tho

I understand at what you are saying .. But he is 6"5 .. If he was 6" or under I'll understand your agruement but at 6"5 4.5 wheels .. Say hello to a number 1 wideout... ... .think V. Jackson (Bucs)

<slothdream>

ASJ falls to the end of the second round and Dave Gettleman himself sprints to the podium less than six seconds after we are on the clock to select him.

</slothdream>

Dave Gettleman cannot sprint. It would cut off the circulation in his balls the way he wears his pants

I personally think Evans is pretty overrated in this draft class but I will defend him a bit on this one.

Even when Evans is covered...he really isn't...he will catch the ball over anybody so you have to give him that.

Id throw the ball anywhere near Evans and expect him to come down with it because that's the type of WR he is, he won't be burning past too many people but the skill set is there.

I think Evans will be great in the NFL....someones number 1 WR great

is this the thread where all the people who were gobbling up and retweeting reports like these on other players they didn't like yesterday now take a "logical" look at the situation and proclaim "oh it's just draft season"

Lol this board is so predictable.

srsly why bother logging in, when all you do is complain.

Evans = Decker in my opinion.

Decker isn't really a #1 receiver either but a hard worker for the ball and big target in the red zone that can muscle his way down the field to get open

He's one of those guys that can fight for the ball when everything falls apart. Not worth a high pick, in my opinion.

I just wanna know why the exact same posters who spewed similar reports on players like Manziel, Clowney, Benjamin and etc etc as if the word of these insiders was sacred text yesterday is now conveniently just "draft time nonsense" when speaking about the player who just so happens to attend the local school.

Mike Evans is a beast though, the one guy who I would wish we could trade up for and not get raped.

Haha! We can't move up high enough to get Evans and NOT get raped. ie: Julio jones --- no thank you. This is the first year in several drafts where we actually have 7 picks....oh wait, we have an extra 7th round pick in exchange for the Jon beason deal.

Actually, we traded our original 7th round pick for Colin Jones to the 49ers (pick 243).  The Beason trade got us back into the 7th round (pick 225).
