I'm being graded mostly on my writing and camera work. But feel free to email me replacement songs.

Yeah I understand that. I would sit through the whole thing and think of perfect songs for each scenario but I just don't have that much time.

My main concern with some of the music you chose are that the lyrics distract you and don't fit. It's almost like its a music video instead of just some background music for a scene.

the first scene has a happy feeling to it with the character picking up an engagement ring and establishing shots of the town. the second scene is tricky because we have one character That has to make a major life decision and is a little depressed. the next one is nervous because he's going to be proposing and the last one is happy to be going on a date.

No the second scene is a collection of those shots. Almost like a montage.

Ok let's start with the intro, are you content with that song? Because I have a song in mind for that scene that would be perfect, and would really set the tone. The song is actually called "Intro" ironically.

as long as it's not the overused one by the xx. There's always room for improvement in my opinion. I'm never content.

Nah not the xx, it's by my favorite group Alt J. I've been waiting to work on something and use it as an intro song because its the perfect intro song.

Alright tell me what you think, I thought it was a better fit especially if you can find a way to make the opening scene long enough to fit it perfectly. It's only a 2:38 long song so it's just about perfect. I'm biased when it comes to that band though because I think any of their songs sound great with any scene, maybe you'll agree.

Dex, all I have right now for you is the transitions between scenes could be worked on. The fading to black seems like too much of a jarring break- they should be more subtle.

The best scene was the dialogue between the father and son. The shots were good over his shoulder.

I wouldn't mind seeing the scenes you took out put back in. The ones with him burying the body in the woods. Just having him stick the shovel in the ground and make the phone call doesn't give the viewer any context. I know and you know what he just did because we have seen the earlier version, but someone seeing it for the first time wouldn't.

Again bro, study the good film makers out there and question yourself "why does this scene work so well? How did they get that shot? What did they use to make the mood change in the scene?"

Dont let others critique your project while in progrss you will go insane. Just go with your gut and if there are any parts you could have improved upon you learn from that on the next project.
