FA

A post-draft DT and LT to compete vet-min.

DRAFT

1-Brandin Cooks WR Oregon St. 5’10 189

ncf_u_cooks_gb1_300x200.jpg

This is the one guy that if available, you take him.  Top value for us.  +Starting WR

2-Cameron Fleming RT Stanford 6'5 323

We’ve shown interest and I like him a lot for RT.   Getting a starting RT at 60 is nice.  +Starting RT

3-Dion Bailey FS USC 6’0 201

This is a sleeper pick for us imo.  I’ve had a feeling Gettleman|Rivera want to find that stud young FS.  This could definitely be the guy...compares to Weddle. Think the opposite of Thomas Davis’ transition.  +Starting FS

4-Cody Latimer WR Indiana 6’3 215

1240248.jpg

People are projecting him higher in some cases but there are so many WRs he could be one that winds up right here for us.  I like what I’ve seen…a lot.  Athletic, size, quickness…+WR 3

5-Philip Gaines CB Rice 6’0 193

A CB who is on the rise. He’d definitely be worth considering here.  +CB3

6-Devon Kennard OLB 6’3 249 USC

A guy to groom on the outside behind TD could be cool.  +backup-OLB

7-Ryan Groy OG Wisconsin

Wisconin produces linemen and more depth on the o-line is needed +OG backup/depth

I expect a rookie LT and Bell to stay at RT. at least for next year

At 28 or 60, there's limited options if one of Lewan/Martin/Koaundijo doesn't fall.  Richardson may be a guy we could get in RD2 that could start at LT but outside of the potential in Billy Turner, Fleming, and Hurst there's not many plug and play LTs. I'm trying to go value and instant impact with these picks.

I dont think you can serve up a left tackle on demand despite what some folks must think. Hopefully we end up with one but don't want to reach just so we can say we drafted an LT. Would be very comfortable with this draft but would assume we pick up a tackle via FA.
