Is it that big of a deal, are you that desperate for attention. Who actually watches the days leading up to the probowl....and who even watches the probowl itself...? Besides, tons of player sin the league are friends, this isn't the NBA where it is easier to work out a deal to play with your buddies anyway. The fact they "hung out" being used as your support for why he would pick us over another team is pretty weak.

If he comes here cool, if he doesnt than oh well.

As long as a contract could be worked out that doesn't kill our cap future we should try to sign him.

I hope this hapens but my gut feeling is the Raiders, with massive cap space will give him a huge deal.

 

 

I don't think he is going to sign for some huge deal.

 

He may go to KC (or somewhere else) on a 1 year $3-$4m contract. Just a gut feeling.

For those who want to cut Godfrey and sign Jackson, Godfrey has to be medically cleared to play football or else he is entitled to an injury settlement with the team. Because he is making so much money, it would not be within our best interests to just let him go outright just yet. He needs to be cleared by the team doctor AND an independent doctor. 

 

 

 

Godfrey is coming off an Achilles injury that ended his 2013 season in the second game. He has a $7.1 million salary cap figure in 2014, so if he's not completely healthy and able to perform to the level that made him worthy of the big number in the first place, then it's not worth it keep him on the roster. 

By cutting Godfrey after June 1, the Panthers would save $5.1 million against the cap. 

That's huge for a team trying to get cap healthy. 

But you can't cut Godfrey while he's injured. The Panthers have to either get clearance by the team doctor and likely an independent doctor of the player's choosing or work out an injury settlement.
