Lot of NFL players have connections to gangs..that's not really all that uncommon but I doubt he winds up here don't think JR wants to get involved with that.

This

Lots of players have ties to gangs and bad dudes...

What probably got Jackson axed is his judgement/actions in addition to knowing bad guys. Lots of guys in the NFL can have their past connected to gangs and thugs....that alone won't get you cut

So correct me if I am wrong.  They save 6.5 million but don't they have to pay him 3.5 million?   Just like when we signed Jake to that ridiculous contract and then he went to Cleveland.  We ended up paying for part of his salary (basically)

So we could get him at a good number and he would still get paid by Philly too.

If that is the case we could really get a deal and Jackson and Cam would be an awesome combo.

As a black male in America, I fuging hate when people say this poo.

What is talking white?

I'm an Army brat, both of my parents served, and they raised my brother and I to speak proper English.

That's real to me. I guess sounding ignorant and speaking as if you read on a 5th grade level is staying true to themselves for others.

I feel you on a certain level. But I took a course in Black English many moons ago. It did not address "talking white" per se, but did use the term "standard English".  It spoke about Gullah and Geechee, Ebonics, colloquialisms, etc. Basically the professor was trying to get people to expand their minds and learn to accept that there is a time and place to use formal language, and a time and a place to use conversational language.  The wise man knows when and where (and perhaps how) to use both depending upon the setting, or at least doesn't get indignant and snobbish, feigning misunderstanding when faced with either one depending upon the setting.

Is a football forum the proper setting to use colloquialisms and conversational language? Probably.  Is it a forum where issues such as "talking white" should be brought up? Maybe not.

One thing about it though, the fundamental purpose of standard English and any type of conversational speech is communication and understanding, so as long as those two things are being manifested, then it's not worth getting upset over, particularly on a football message board where words like "irregardless" and terms like "I seen" are somewhat commonplace.

BTW, I already have  blackpoems.net, and will be reinventing another site to discuss such issues called racerelations.net as well as starting another forum called blackopinions.net later on this year.  I'll keep you in mind.

Who knows what to believe tat this point, but I tend to side with Rivera. He's the coach, doesn't have any reason to lie, and is pretty much a straight-shooter (though tactful).

I think that it will come down to D-Jax, and whether or not he is willing to take what amounts to a pay cut, or go for as much money as he can. He can come and play with Cam and company and still get what amounts to a damned good overall salary when you sum up what both teams will pay, or he can go for even more money and get paid two salaries (in effect).  Now, the D-Jax that we all know through the media is probably going to look for a BrinKs truck to roll up.

If anybody actually believes he'll take a smaller contract bc of what the Eagles are paying him or have paid him, then they are a fool. Jackson is the type where no amount of money is ever enough.

Also, do not want this idiot in our locker room. Remember when Hernandez was a model citizen who just had some shady friends?

When you hear something in regards to still paying a player that typicslly just refers to the cap hit from already paid out bonus.
