First I would like to thank the Eagles organization, the Eagles fans and the city of Philadelphia for my time in Philly. I would also like to thank coach Andy Reed for bringing me in. Secondly, I would like to address the misleading and unfounded reports that my release has anything to do with any affiliation that has been speculated surrounding the company I keep off of the field. I would like to make it very clear that I am not and never have been part of any gang. I am not a gang member and to speculate and assume that I am involved in such activity off the field is reckless and irresponsible. I work very hard on and off the field and I am a good person with good values. I am proud of the accomplishments that I have made both on and off the field. I have worked tirelessly to give back to my community and have a positive impact on those in need. It is unfortunate that I now have to defend myself and my intentions. These reports are irresponsible and just not true . I look forward to working hard for my new team. God Bless."

He's not going to be a panther because of his contract primarily.  May be other reasons, but I doubt DG was frothing at the mouth for him before he found out he reportedly had "gang ties."

 

I don't believe he is in a gang.  He's stayed clear of the law as far as I can tell and remember.

 

He has for the most part...  The nj.com article said there was a previously unreleased arrest in 2009 for too dark-tinted windows, and when he was pulled, they found weed in the car.  Most the charges were dropped outside of the issue with the windows.

 

But, I mean, Moose turned out to be a model citizen and dude was shooting squirrels with handguns on his college campus and got pulled for stuff even here early in his career, lol.

i would be a lot more open minded if my house wasn't tagged by gang members and hells angels or my sister and i weren't threatened because my father locked up a bunch of them when i lived in cali.

then this asshole has the nerve to say this guy should be free. some people don't realize the magnitude of this kind of stuff sitting behind their computers typing away. You ALWAYS have to be careful and aware of the company you keep. always.

Yeah and I totally understand why you feel that way then. I also agree you don't go posting stuff about freeing people that deserve to be locked up.

Salary is an obvious issue for the cap-strapped Panthers who have roughly $5 million in cap space. Jackson was set to earn $10.7 million this season and count $12.5 million against the salary cap in 2014. His release will save the Eagles $6.5 million in cap space.

"It depends on the numbers,'' Rivera said. "You have to negotiate around the numbers. We'll see what happens. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of days.''

Gangs recruit and kill kids on a daily basis and without remorse. I would not pay the guy a nickle to play here if he has a gang affiliation. I am a little surprised that some on here are more tolerant.

 

Do you really believe the Panthers have never had gang members or players with gang affiliations on the team?

yea there is a clear difference with just visiting a friend in prison and posting those kinds of things. do i think jackson has any gang affiliations where he is involved in something? HELL NO.

 

but it just shows he's a fuging idiot who doesn't grasp what all of that is about. that is the distinction. it is a character flaw.
