Rivera says Cam wasn't consulted in WR moves

I don't consult my employees when I'm terminating one of their peers.

This is no different in my eyes. My job is to steer the ship. It's my neck on the line. I let an employee talk me out of it, then poo hits the fan?

My ass is the one filing for unemployment.

So you wouldn't ask your manager if it is a reasonable idea to get rid of an entire department of your company, and then replace them with one really old guy and a couple of teenagers?

Cam isn't the manager.  He's one of the top employees.

OK, let's say that's the case. Maybe you might want to check in with your 'top employee', who you have placed a heavy burden on for his entire career and is pretty much the only reason your company is succeeding, before you fire most of his fellow employees. He might not want to be taking on even more tasks, and would be interested in going to a different company where he can get paid more money and have more talented people to work with. If you tick off your employees, they don't want to stay.

If you honestly think Cam is going to want to stay here when he has nobody to protect him and nobody to throw to, I don't know what to say. What quarterback in the league wants to go into the season with Byron Bell as a starting tackle (let alone their left tackle) with Jericho Cotchery as their top receiving option?

Disagree, he a player, not a personnel guy. The GM is the guy ruining the show.

I have no problem with this. Cam has enough in his plate with going to school, having surgery and preparing for next season.

And being in the Carribean. I hope he took some game film because Scam suckz.

yeah i'm sure cam was isolated from all forms of contact for months in st kitts and nevis and literally had no idea any of this was happening and walked into the lockerroom to see empty lockers in the receivers section and fell to his knees screaming at god

When Cam's contract comes you guys remember this is a business. The same ones screaming it's a business are the same ones that are going to be crying when Cam has to be paid a premium just to stay.

Cam has earned his contract, you have to pay the piper. I have no problem with it. However, because of who he is as a man and a leader I see him taking a deal like Rodgers or Brady that's structured in a manner to benefit the team. He's not the POS Drew Brees is.

Cam is one of our several top employees and he is absolutely NOT the only reason our company is succeeding. And no, none of the top employees should have been consulted.

Honestly...I'm done having conversations with the people who take the "we don't have this and we don't have that" stance. IT's such a ridiculous stance.

People act like we dropped an AJ Green or Julio Jones type receiver. Someone that got drafted the same year as Cam, that he has great chemistry with and puts up 1400 yards every year. We all love Smitty, but let's all be honest with ourselves that at this stage of his career Smitty was just another guy. LaFell was meh at best and Ginn was a first round bust that did well for us in a few highlights, but also dropped multiple sure touchdown bombs as well.

They are going to sign Cam to a massive contract, and when they do they'll have the cap flexibility to also sign some weapons for him long term for a sustained success.

How this concept continues to elude so many is truly baffling.
