Rivera says Cam wasn't consulted in WR moves

He lost his top 3 targets.....Gronk(injury), Welker, Hernandez(jail)

Still went well for them.

Gronk came back. Hernandez was seen coming. He still had Amedola and Dobson. Also, what about this current offseason. Please compare the Patriots and the Panthers now.

We're what, 2-3 weeks into the league year?

The crisis mode schtick is getting old already. FA is still ongoing, the Draft is still 40 days away, there will be more cuts from other teams.

Let's back away from the ledge and see what happens.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. This isn't something new, Cam hasn't had much help his entire career in Carolina. The offense was placed on his back from day one, and he's not been given any help since. The offense has regressed since his second year when Shockey wasn't resigned.

Cam's job is to do the best he can with the players on his team not to decide who those players should be.  Gettleman is looking down the road just not today which is his job.  We will more than likely pick up a receiver or 2 in the draft which hopefully will set us up for the next 5 or 6 years at the position.  So cam will be asked to help develop the young guys so he has them down the road.  We are going to have a competitive team this year but the whole goal is to develop a consistent winner which takes developing players through the draft and building the core long term not holding onto to players past their prime and overpaying for talent which helps the now but hurts down the road.

Let's not pretend that gutting all of Cam's active wide receivers is somehow equivalent to Brady losing Welker.

Also, look at this seasons acquisitions made by the Patriots and then seriously compare Brady and Cam again.

The part that is equivalent is that the decision makers in the front office don't make their decisions based off of what the players want.

Do you think that if Cam said we should keep our receivers, then we would/should have?  If your answer is no (which i would hope that it is), then it would serve zero purpose to ask him.  That is how it's done.

Not sure how you don't understand that but Brady lost his top 3 targets and made the playoffs....dood said Cam lost his top 3 targets and is still going to make the playoffs...that's a legit comparison.

And...they don't consult Brady on much of anything so....yea...there is that too.

Dobson was a rookie last year not sure how you talking bout "he still had" more like "he JUST got" Dobson.

Yeah, I'm sure Cam was actually like, " You didn't retain any of my awesome recievers?"

He said Cam was surprised....he didn't say he was upset or crying over it :)

Maybe Cam was surprised like...OMFG YES I CAN'T BELIEVE YALL DID THAT WHOOO!

That kind of surprise

I guess people forgot that our WR core that we "gutted" (just cut one player), SUCKED.

Wan't improvement? perhaps that "core" we had limited what we could do on the field, and some of you want to overpay to keep them? Genius, I tell ya.

YUP GETTLEMAN IS A RETARD

You don't have to let your QB make personnel decisions but at the same time a QBs relationship with his receivers should be taken into account.

I'm sure that that was taken into account, and every other positive and negative were discussed and weighed as well.

The offense has actually relied less on Cam each year he's been here. 643 attempts passing/running rookie year, 612 in 2012, and 584 in 2013.
