WR Cody Latimer has a scheduled visit with the Panthers

I have seen more than a few draftniks rank Latimer a 4-5 round grade.  Now of course that was before he ran a 4.38, but straight line speed doesn't a complete WR make.  If G-man picks him before the 4th, I'll be surprised.

Word from Indiana pro-day: Cody Latimer in round 3? NY Jets, NY Giants, Indianapolis Colts & SF 49ers on the WR: http://walterfootball.com/proday.php

Those numbers coupled with an excellent last season at Indiana could be enough to push him to the top of the second day of the draft.

this whole blog was about his status, after running 4.4 and sub 4.4 at his pro day. some big time draftniks were discussing his rise up the board.

I still don't see the value in the OT's that are projected to be there at 28.

There is the slim possibility that Taylor Lewan could fall.

(now go search the web for another instance of the word 'slim' being used in a discussion of Taylor Lewan)

More likely prospect at this stage would be Zach Martin, who I could see following a similar career path to our old buddy Jordan Gross (i.e. starting at another spot before going to left tackle).

Of course, there's also this...

The more I read up on this guy the more I really really want him. I have a hunch this guy won't get to us at the end of the 2nd. A reach to take him at 28? Probably so but this guy 100% passes the eyeball test. Whoever earlier says he reminds them of Julio Jones I completely agree. From the frame to how he positions himself to make a catch. Damn. (Not saying this guy is going to be Julio or has the exact athleticism/measurables as him, but there are similarities between the 2).

I love him but I don't think you can reach on him at 28. Just so much depth out there at WR and have to be patient. You can almost guarantee someone like Marqise, Landry, Martavis (whose skill set fits perfect with Cam) will be there 2nd to 4th rounds. Latimer just might be sitting there in the 4th or 5th.
