well the playoffs is where you want your guys to show up. Smitty showed up. The promising young secondary did not show up, the super front 7 was neutralized and showed our weakness on D and the niners shutdown the Off pretty handily.the payoffs is when you want your guys to step up.

i don't know why this is a argument about smith stats..............stats are for losers

there a numerous reasons why his stats were not higher the top being:

1.Injury, missed 2 and a half games

2.Him having 100 yds was not the formula for winning, eat clock and play defense, then before the 49ers game most teams got blown out anyway.

3. Cam Spreading the ball, its funny most of you bitched and moaned about how cam always locked on to smith then he supposedly stops and now you bitch about how smith is over the hill

with that being said his stats don't do justice to the impact he had on the field............

*waves church fan* "weeelll!"

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera believes that after 13 years in the NFL, Smith is beginning to slow down and doesn’t have the top-end speed that used to set him apart. However, Baltimore head coach John Harabugh still has plenty left to help the Ravens this fall.

“He’s a competitive guy. He’s very successful. He’s one of the great receivers in the history of the game,” Harbaugh said in an interview with PFT from the owner’s meetings in Orlando, Fla. “You know, I think that Steve’s fully capable of being his best with the Ravens and that’s what he plans on doing, that’s our expectations I’m excited about it.”

For a smaller receiver, Smith has been remarkably durable over his career. Smith has played in at least 14 games in 12 of his 13 seasons with the Panthers. Last season, Smith caught 64 passes for 745 yards and four touchdowns as Carolina returned to the postseason for the first time since 2008.

With the Ravens, Smith expects to be a “complementary dude” in Baltimore’s offense.

“His role is going to be to help us score points, move the chains,” Harbaugh said. “You know, he’s unique, this whole thing about 3rd receiver, 2nd receiver, slot receiver, outside receiver he almost kind of debunks all of that. We’re going to try to put him in position to do the things he does well but he does a lot of things well.”

Dumb. Smith being a "deep threat" because of him losing a step is retarded. Smith can run routes so cleanly, with his physical play, that if he had a chance at being a full time slot receiver, or just having another guy take off the load he would still have been taking them to the house last season. That and Shula is pretty much retarded. Chud was awful in his second year, but at least he didn't fully neuter the offense. I believe Steve in 2011 had something like 1300 yards, and in 2012 1100? Last year he played injured, missing games, and still produced more than any receiver on our team.
