If cutting CJ is on the horizon bc his contract number is insane.. If extending him is a no go then no one should be suprised if we draft a DE in this draft.

However if your going to overpay for a position..a DE duo is the trend. The RBs and Godfrey coming off the books will do wonders as well as the Jon Beason, James Anderson dead money. .

Look at the bears getting Justin Houston and Jared Allen, broncos Demarcus Ware/Von Miller.. Peppers/Clay Matthews..Clowney/JJ Watt? Everyone wants the CJ/Hardy duo.

Qb and Dline is where the Giants focused their dollars and developing 3rd round or later OLine guys at lower costs.

You're aware it's been 2 years since he was last injured right?

Even though TD is incredible his age/injury history will catch back up to him although he is a rare athlete. Id love to see him restructure possibly take a pay cut since the organization had total faith in his comeback and supported him through his injury seasons. Get a signing bonus and statue.

Johnson IMO been one of the players that has come close to earning his money. Still he is more than likely gone because he is not going to take a pay cut.

Agreed with both points..Except I feel CJ has earned every dollar and goes largely unappreciated for his efforts and consistency...something Peppers still does not have.

I'm sure we would like everyone to take a pay cut and restructure from every player.  However why do we want to basically steal money from someone who is producing?  I don't think people realize how well TD played last year.  Or maybe everyone just forgot.  Add to the fact that even though he is older he missed a lot of wear and tear on the body due to being out for injury basically 3 years.  Thomas Davis salary is just about right.  Even if he loses a step he still may be the one of the fastest LB in the league.  A restructure fine, but a pay cut is disrespectful.

You guys realize that when you cut a player you have to replace him right?

So when you cut a talented player making <5mil a year to go "cheaper" you're replacing him with what is likely a lesser player and with minimal increase in finance space. Somebody has to make the money.

Lol some of you act like you're the ones paying the bills for these guys.

You're aware of TD's rather significant injury history, right?

Never got hurt, got hurt, missed significant time, got better, and missed no time since.

As far as TD is concerned. There are no injury concernz at this time. Nor should there be. He back. Better than ever. This will be his 2nd year in a row with no rehab work. He can devote 100% to just him. That is scary, not gonna be ignored, if you thought last year was monster, good news.

JMO, TD got everyones attention last year. He should be even better this year. Can't wait to see what he has in store for us. With Keek, and that Klein kid, that corp. will get plenty of attention.

This front office has proven time and time again that they want fair contracts over fan favorites. I do think td produced well on his contract and will this year but I dont know what next offseason holds for a player that can basically pay for a younger LB in his spot if he is cut.

My question is how much n of Hardy's success is a HEALTHY CJ...everyone so quick to pay Hardy but cut CJ.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

Best case. Extend them both. 4 years with a 5th year option. Why not? Allow CJ to retire a Panther, and ensures the Kracken has his bookend.

Cutting Kalil would be epically dumb. I feel like Stewart is gone already, so meh on that one. It's incredibly likely that CJ gets cut next year....

Please do not make fun of my JStew is going to beast out this year dreams. But yeah, cutting Ryan would be oops big time. Whereas, I advocate extending CJ. Other that that...

Long term Hardy this year. Save a few mil. Next year when the cap jumps you extend CJ, and redo Cam. The year after is Keek, and then Star and KK round out the next 5 years. Sounds doable. Rinse and repeat. Build through the draft. I want a LT.

TD basically had a Pro Bowl type season last year. With all indications being he should be even better this year. You may get a talented LB to play, but you cannot replaces what TD brings with just any player. You had better be sure of what you are doing.

Value. Production. TD has both right now. Maybe in a couple of years. He is just toooooo good to lose.
