2011 Draft Class - Will everyone wait on Cam's contract?

Since teams can start negotiating....is the rest of the NFL waiting on Cam to ink a deal to set the price as the first pick of the 2011 draft and set the QB pay scale? (other than Kap, is any other QB getting a new contract? Dalton?)

I haven't heard any news on non-QB contracts whose contracts aren't as dependent on Cams. (not going to list everyone, just these guys should be expecting big $$)

DEs: JJ Watt, Von Miller, Aldon Smith, Quinn.

WR: AJ Green, Julio Jones

DBs: Peterson

OT: Solder, Carpenter

I don't know but I will say it again. If the Panthers, 49ers, Seahawks, Bengals, Dolphins, Redskins, Eagles wait until the Colts and Luck finish theirs...

The market value of NFL QBs will be 22 million without question.

Luck is going to ask the Colts for a contract north of 25 million/year and god help us all if the Colts give it to him.

If he wins a SB, of course.

Considering all these guys contract expires a year before Luck's, won't have any effect on all the guys drafted a year before him.

But there are only 4-5 weeks left to decide if the team is going to exercise the 5th year option.

Sent from my LG-LS720 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

Of course they will exercise the option which must be decided by May 3rd. Right now the tag for quarterbacks is 14 million and even if it increases by 4 or 5 million it won't be more than we will paying him.

The only downside is that if we exercise the option, it will guarantee the money for injury and if he is on the roaster at the beginning of the 5th year, the money will be fully guaranteed.  With his injury history even with the surgery it sounds like a good bet with little downside..

The Panthers, 49ers, and Bengals could all wait until next off season to extend. The Colts are able to begin negotiations with Luck next off season. Which means Luck could get an extension prior to Newton, Kaepernick, and Dalton.

And the rest were drafted the same year as Luck.

I remember hearing about how weak that draft class was at the time. Well... 12 of the first 16 picks have made at least one Pro Bowl; one of those that hasn't yet is Nick Fairley, who is no scrub. The other three? Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, and Christian Ponder.

Notable later picks include Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick, Kyle Rudolph, and Richard Sherman.
