#1 Receivers don't grow on trees, I'm told

The 2011 offense caught a lot of folks off guard. After a year of film and the offseason, we didn't look nearly as good. It wasn't just Chud going too much to the option but teams figuring how to stop us. That offense was good but wouldn't work like it did the first time no matter who was the coordinator.

I was very surprised by our 2011 offense in general . You gotta believe Cam can get those kind of yards again. Maybe the WR cleanse and Cam's maturity will show us something special again.

We ditched Shockey and started going to more of a run game towards the end of the season.

But the reality was that we scored lots of points and put lots of yards because we had to because we were often way behind.  I thought the goal was to win not necessarily to just put up yards or even score points. We scored 23 points in 2013 versus 25 in 2011.  Not a big difference.  We made 75 third downs in 2011 and 91 in 2013 on exactly the same number of plays. The biggest difference was 66 plays of 20 yards or more in 2011 versus 33 plays in 2013.  And that was as much taking what the defense gave us and trying to move the sticks instead of trying to hit the homerun on every series.

Biggest difference was twice as many passing plays of over 20 yards.  We always tried to hit the home run which resulted in a few more points but more 3 and outs as well.

But you can't exactly ensure that you end up with a HOF receiver. I doubt that the aspiration of our talent evaluation GM is to provide our roster with mediocrity.

this is not about that, it is about the poster backing off wanting a HOF player and there is nothing wrong with that.whether it happens or not  is really  another issue.

Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb aren't number 1's? gtfo

Antonio brown is a number one also.

Smh

You would be considered a number one playing with ARod too. Nelson and Cobb, IMO, are not true #1s.

And no, Brown is not a #1. I can see how some would think he is--like some think Jackson is-- but I personally do not see it.

Once again, I am bias against short WRs as No. 1s.

Lol gtfo of here.. 1500 yards and 8 tds isnt #1 production in your opinion?

Apparently you cant be a no.1 receiver unless your name is Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald or Brandon Marshall.. come on

That's dumb. They all put up 1 numbers. Nelson would be a one on any other team besides Detroit Chicago and bengals

Oftentimes one makes the other a HOF'er, it's usually the QB doing the lion's share of the work.

A qb doesn't need to do much work with calvin johnson or green. Just throw the ish up. Not hard to do. There are more tough catches than perfect throws in the league. Any wonder why the broncos are still stacking up with them boys. Let's get to reality here and see the light.
