Headed to Austin, Texas this Week

Anyone have some things to do/places to see for me?

 

I'll be renting a house with 11 of my friends from high school but aside from the standard bar and club scene, what are some other things to do in the city? Really wanting to get my hands on some Texas BBQ and potentially go on a brewery tour or attend a beer tasting event.

Saw this week in your title, so anything in the water is pretty much out.

 

For the best (IMO) barbecue, head south to lockhart and take your pick between blacks, smithy's, and kreutz.

 

It's the early crawfish season, likely to be some of that going on.

 

The weather will be great to be outdoors regardless, have fun!

I'm about an hour north of Austin and usually have the fam and kids with me when I get down that way. Renting kayaks at Zilker park is fun if it's a nice day. There's other spots that rent the stand up kayaks or row boats. Sixth street at night was always a blast back in the day but I haven't hit it in at least ten years.
