D-Jax Big Possibility of Being Cut

Recommended Posts

Good try but it will not presently work. They will be waiting on a later date to deal with Godfrey,Hardy has not agree to an extension,no way are we cutting Olsen our most productive receiver.Plus you have made no allowance for the money it will take to sign Cam,Luke,Star,Short, and pay Hardy for an extension, all who will be due to be re-signed shortly..

See,it's not as easy as it sounds to manage a cap that is currently in salary cap hell and still keep a team solid and intact..Please come back with a more workable plan and I will bring it to Dave Gettlemans attention. :)

Newton won't be extended until 2015.

Kuechly won't be extended until 2016.

Lotulelei won't be extended until 2017.

The cap will be $25mil higher by the time Star is due a contract. Not to mention Stewart & Williams horrible contracts will both be gone. So will the dead money being paid to Smith & Beason. Also, Johnson will have either restructured or been cut.

No way I see him here if he gets cut.

Someone else will offer a ridiculous contract.

Right. The only way this is possible is if he has a serious man crush on Cam and decides the opportunity to shower next to him is more important than money. Possible, but unlikely.

As a Jets fan, I can say Mehta is pure garbage as a reporter. Actually, he, and our dufus duo here are pretty relatable, but it is an interesting thought. My guess is that he's trying to point to smoke in hopes that there's a fire for the hometown Jets.... makes sense too. Carolina can't outbid New York with the cap, so we'd have to pimp Cam to bring Jax here... very doable though.... and we get to keep our draft picks.

What are YOU DOING HERE. P A N T H E R S doesn't sound like jets to me. Why don't you make like a fetus and head out.

But at some point you need to make your franchise QB happy.

EXACTLY. That would be the main reason why we would make the move. Secondly we definitely need good weapons.

If he gets outright released and Gettleman still doesn't try signing him, I'm burning that fugging stadium to the ground (not really NSA, but I'll feel like it!)

You just got added to 100 different watch lists... don't try flying anytime soon...LOL

Cam is in need of a talented prototypical #1 wr. Prototypical meaning, 6'2" ---6'4", fast with a big durable build. Of course he must have great hands. Jackson is just not what we need... He's just too damn small. Nothing against Jackson, he's just not what we need. We live in the NFC-south--- the land of Julio jones and Vincent Jackson....I want a guy like that.

Liked someone noted earlier, do we really want him if Philly is so desperate to get him out?

I hear that the Jets are in love with Brandin Cooks (my fav prospect) I figure that if they pick DJax up it would lower the chance of them selecting him with their pick. Then again it would leave a hole at WR for the eagles and they could select Cooks looking to replace Desean.

This is actually a great point. Let him go to anyone in front of us that is likely to draft a receiver, that will free them up to draft another position. Besides, I'm not sure i want him here if he is money hungry & yelling at coaches. Then again maybe he just needs a change of scenery.

Actually, 6'2-6'4 is not prototypical in this generation of the NFL. Look around the league: Steve Smith, Wes Walker, DeSean Jackson, Golden Tate are your prototypical receivers now because teams rely on speed and shiftiness as opposed to a big possession receiver.

Size isn't everything and I understand Cam tends to over throw but to me deception and quickness> size, especially if a small guy has a high vertical.

The fact you had to list Steve Smith as an example of a "prototypical" WR along with the amazing likes of Golden Tate tells me that it's false.

Looking at the top 7 WRs last year in yards, it consisted of Josh Gordan (6'3"), Antonio Brown (5'10"), Calvin Johnson (6'5"), Demaryius Thomas (6'3"), A.J. Green (6'4"), Alshon Jeffrey (6'3"), and Andre Johnson (6'3"). The back end of this list contains a few short people (including D-Jax), but it looks like 6"3" is the sweet spot.

Top 10 in TDs? A few tall TEs, Dez Bryant (6'2"), Fitz (6'3"), and Brandon Marshall (6'4").

So no, the prototypical AMAZING WR is not Shorty McShorts. It's guys 6'2" and up.
