D-Jax Big Possibility of Being Cut

Recommended Posts

I'm in favor of the trade but lets look at it the other way.

Anyone think that Cam and Desean being friends could actually be a reason why DG wouldn't make the trade?

We've heard teammates say that Cam isolated himself the first two years but became more of a team guy last season. If you throw DJax in the locker room, someone Cam may feel comfortable with they may isolate themselves.

Cam may have to go and personally sell DG on the idea of bringing in DJ if he wants him here. It's year 4 and they have yet to give Cam a legit WR. Now Cam's in the tough spot because if he says something he's a "diva" and if he doesn't he's not a "leader" but eventually something got to give. Guys like Cotchery and Underwood are good role player types but not weapons. Cotch and Underwood are suppose to be great locker room guys, maybe they can help with DJax .

There's lots to consider and in the end I just can't see this being a move DG makes. Seems like it'd be going against everything he's done. But at some point you need to make your franchise QB happy.

You really struggle with the basics of the salary cap.

We have huge money at DE....need to sign Cam and Luje to big contracts. Couple that with the fact that this is one of the best WR classes in decades.....and intelligent people understand that it would be crazy to drop 10m a year on a FA WR. Not to mention one that has bitched about his contract every year. Bitched when he was on a rookie contract...got a new big contract...and then started immediately bitching about that one.

True points, but I think once we look at how much money is tied up in our backfield, it will justify DJax in 2 years when their salaries are off the books.  I'd rather pay Jackson (still in his prime) $10MM and snag RBs that are younger and cheaper (draft, FA, etc.) than not give Cam the weapons he's been so patient for.  Cotchery and Underwood = LaFell/Ginn, and a rookie draftee will be awesome to grow into our bonafide #1 when Jackson's contract is up.  I'd rather put Cotchery and Underwood at the 3/4, Jackson at the X and Matthews at the Z for the next 2 years.

That being said, If I'm a betting man, I see him in New York opposite Decker and Kerley.  NYJ have the cap space, need and now Vick.... not that Vick is starting, but it is what it is.

Djax is an awesome talent, but incredibly immature and a huge distraction....if Gettleman questioned #89s character, than how can he justify going after someone even the Eagles are smart enoug to cut ties with.

Regardless I realize we're so desperate at this point that Jax off the field issues we're all too wiling to put the back burner.

It's clear DJax has 4 teams in mind...

Perhaps with that in mind, Jackson, as CrossingBroad.com pointed out, took to Instagram on Friday to post several videos of highlights with new Jets quarterback Michael Vick. Jackson also posted a picture of then-USC coach Pete Carroll on a recruiting visit. Carroll, of course, is now the coach of the Seahawks. Jackson also shared a photo of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton from the Pro Bowl, and he also posted a picture with Raiders fullback Marcel Reece.

Panthers could out bid any other team if they wanted to & create cap space.

Our cap situation is overblown. It's because Dave doesn't want to, not that he can't.

OK wise guy,you seem so positive on this issue,so please explain how Gettleman can out bid any other team and still have money to sign  Cam,Luke, Short, Hardy, etc. We are all ears and will be anxiously waiting to hear your master plan.

However,I will not wait to long because I seriously doubt you have a logical answer.

Here is a recent article/video on his possible release:

Jackson ticked off management when he lobbied for a new contract less than 48 hours after the team’s first-round playoff loss to the Saints. He’s had a reputation for being a diva since the Eagles picked him in the second round of the 2008 draft. Last year, despite the banner season, he created controversy by having a verbal altercation with receivers coach Bob Bicknell on the sidelines during a loss to the Vikings.
