Smitty venting on Twitter

Today, I found out many things about Smitty, I did not know. Nothing good.

I don't intend to share what I learned, or my source, cause I know the huddle too well.

So yes, he was the Panthers passing offense for years. Now is definitely the time to move on, as his production is much easier to replace now than ever.

I will always remember 89, bottom line.

It is time for a new era, and I'm excited to see where it leads us.

You don't get it.

Enjoy the Ravens season.

We all have moved on.

we all?...speak for yourself. Gettleman just better hope & pray they don't suck this yr because if they do there will be no defending him...period. Hell one of the main reasons they said they started winning last yr was because that " bully" came into the locker room & said "we're not losing this season so get it together!" i guess that'll be Cam's job now. whatever...they just better win.

Ok show me some proof then smart guy, you should have tons of evidence as a insider............... Nope, nothing substantive just speculation and hearsay. So what if he ruffled some feathers, if it was something major we would have heard about it simple and plain. Some of you just want to find meanings to justify the cut to make yourselves feel better. A dumb move is a dumb and I don't want to hear Gettleman is a gm so he is "all knowing", how'd that work out for Hurney.

Show me proof that the articles written about the Smith rumors were true. Nope, nothing substantive just speculation and hearsay.

I think Smith said it himself that it wasn't about the money. He was already a rich man.

Hmmmmm!!!! If Smitty didn't value money then why did he let it be known he would not restructure or take a salary decrease to help our salary cap and enable us to sign other players, since he was 35 and admitted he was no longer a #1 WR?

I admit the Gettleman could/should have handled Smittys release better but the bottom line is, due to some reasons we may never know,we were going to trade or release him, no matter how much we sugar coated the situation..

As far as I know he wasn't asked to. He was let go out of nowhere.

I feel that sometimes we forget that these athletes are people. Not just tools for our amusement. Football is a job to them. It's no different than if you worked at McDonald's for 13 years, started out as a fry cook, worked your way up to GM, and then some new guy from corporate comes in and says you gotta go. After all those years of hard work and dedication you would feel some type of way too.

Smitty gave us the best years of his life, and now he has to spend the twilight of his career in Baltimore. All bullshit aside, this was his home and he basically got kicked out by the new step dad.

Steve smith made up 1/53 of our 2013 team and we all appreciate his 645 yards and 4 touchdown contribution to our success. He was not the sole reason for our success. It was a team effort. Steve smith will contribute absolutely ZERO to the panthers upcoming 2014 season. I repeat ZERO. Panther fans will move on and focus on our team, our future. Steve smith fans will, without a doubt, continue to focus their energy on living in the past and bi#%hing and moaning that he got cut. Get over it, or buy a raven jersey and subscribe to the Sunday ticket and become a ravens fan.
