Carolina Panthers Sign Tiquan Underwood

IF we get Britt, I don't want WR in the first. WR is deep, and DG is all about value. We can snag a starting LT in the first round, probably not the 2nd. We could snag a #1 WR in the 2nd. I wouldn't even be opposed to double dipping on the Online.

Britt is a bonified #1,

Britt

Underwood

Cotchery

..the perfect combo IMO.

Got the full package in britt, speed and athleticism in underwood, and the possession, cutch guy in cotchery. GOOD CORPS.

Meanwhile one the Online... NOT GOOD

This stand only if we get britt

Again, Person and Jones are getting abused by other team's beat writers breaking Panthers news. Those guys are horrible. They can't even get a fuging scoop on Tiquan Underwood. Jones has always struck me as a know it all, but it must not be to hard to get a gig at the CO.

Underwood likely isn't going to be as strong as Ginn was.

What I think most disappointing about all this was is how perfectly this off season set us up to take the next step. You don't often get handed the opportunity we did. The draft and free agency were very strong at our 3 most crucial positions of need coming off a big season.

Now were scraping the barrel at those positions hoping to just replenish what we lost there hoping it's as good as what we had so we can get back to homeostasis while the rest of the conference makes significant strides.

Persons is too busy trying to follow March Maddness... Poor guy can't multi-task.

Cotchery/ underwood > lafell/ Ginn IMO.

The point still stands, we are not even done with this part of the roster. Can't judge it until its the finished project.

The problem with the LT position this year is that there's a sizable gap between the first four players and the next four players.

If you're one of those people that believe that there isn't a huge talent disparity between the next four guys (Turner, Moses, Richardson, Kouandijio), you might as well just wait until the second round to take your tackle and take which ever one is available at your pick instead of reaching for one of them when there are better players available at positions of need.

Sorry if this has been posted:

Underwood in 4 years before becoming a Panther:

42 games, 63 receptions, 1006 yards, 16.0 YPC, 6 TDs

Ginn in 4 years before becoming a Panther:

56 games, 71 receptions, 838 yards, ~12 ypc, 2 TDs

(Note: HIs most prolific WR years were before this as a Dolphin, but still)

edit: Ginn's 6 years before becomin a panther:

88 games, 161 receptions, 2048 yards, 12.7 YPC, 6 TDs

I'd say we have a chance of filling Ginn's spot pretty well with Underwood.  Excellent signing, Gettles.
