when we signed J-Co, I read what they were saying about him on a Steelers forum and the comments were mostly positive: "wish we had kept him," etc. Not so much on the Bucs forum regarding Underwood. A few days ago they had a thread asking:

"Why Haven't We Re-signed Underwood? He would give us some good depth at reciever and we should get him for cheap."

and the replies were mostly negative:

-Why would we lower our expectations at this point? Underwood blows and nobody else is signing him. If we fail to add good receivers by June or July....then we can sign him back out of desperation. He'll be available.

-With a limited salary cap they are looking for upgrades everywhere; need the best bang for their buck. Plus, they figure he'll likely still be there later.

-Well, this staff resigned Eric Page and hasn't touched Tiquan Underwood if that is any indication of what they feel his value to be. He is a bottom of the roster WR with no special teams value (right?). It doesn't get much more expendable in the NFL then that.

-Because he sucks.

-He was dumped because he sucked....

-He is a waste of a roster spot

-He is probably too old for the practice squad

-because at this point of free agency and until after the draft, they HAVE to believe that they can get a better guy at WR than Underwood.

-I wouldn't mind having him as the 5th receiver on the roster. If he signs cheaply enough.

-Workout stud who does not translate his athleticism in shorts onto a football field in pads very well.

-he run bad routes

So how many catches did Ginn have before coming here the past 2 years.  It is about fit and frankly who throws a better deep ball than Cam?  Cam will make Underwood like he did Ginn last year.  He is just the kind of guy we needed.  After all he has 63 catches for 1000 yards in his career with a 16 yard average.  He averaged a touchdown every 6 catches last year with Glennon for goofness sakes.  Imagine what he can do with Cam.  Last year he had 24 catches for 440 yards an 18 yard average and 4 TDs.  Reminds me a lot of Ginn.

Because Buc fans have the ability to evaluate WRs?    Or............QBs for that matter.   Some of them thought  Glennon,  the qb with the speed that makes Peyton Manning look like a young Mike Vick,  was an amazing qb.

They did.   Most forum threads I read about Ginn from 9er fans was how pathetic he was,  how pathetic and desperate the Panthers were for signing him.
