Wouldn't be a bad signing.

I love how D. Newton also throws in the tidbit about D-Jax like he still thinks that is going to happen.

It was always a pipe dream due to are cap concerns unless Godfrey was cut and we decided to draft Calvin Pryor.

However a receiving corp of Jackson, Britt, Cotchery, Underwood, McNutt, and King would be filthy.

He mentions Jackson as a possibility, but treats it as an unlikely one.

If the Panthers were interested in D Jax id be shocked.

They cut a short WR making 7 million only to trade for another short WR making close to 11? Both considered locker room distractions by their teams?

I understand the dynamic big play ability of D Jax but just cant see it. Not when a Brandon Cooks seems availible in the draft at 4.3 speed and polished hands.

Alot of you fellas are either a) to young to not know any better b) fair weather fans or c) have no idea what you were. actually seeing when you watched a Panthers since 2001. Im not gone blow the man, but smitty was the heart and soul of this org every season he wasnt on IR. So to suggest that fans from the dam beginning when we beat Jacksonville in the hall of fame game, that have watched all the bull poo ...ups and mostly downs, erase the best thing that ever stepped onto Ericson stadiums feild out of our minds... are just fuggin stupid n need to back up off that bull poo. Im new on the huddle , but i call it how it is. 89, BOTTOM LINE.

not every player with a bad history is an automatic bad fit..  just depends on what his cap hit will be through a 1 year deal and if he's come to terms with maturing to do what it takes to stay focused and perfect his craft.

I would take a flyer on him if the cap hit is low on a 1 year deal and if he royally fugs up (or has matured but gets injured) then cutting him is a non-issue..

Yea look at Hernandez. oh wait he is in jail

Look at Brandon Marshall.

Look at Larry Fitzgerald.

Dez Bryant

Pacman Jones

Ray Lewis

List goes on.

There are tons of players who think they are above everything, get arrested and then go on to keep themselves out of any and all trouble the rest of their careers.

Just have to wonder if Britt is in that same mold.

DG is gonna rebuilt this offense piece by peice and those things don't happen in a week. I doubt they would bring in a guy who has a rep of being a malcontent. It is clear they don't want any distractions/bitching/trouble makers and like it or not, that's one of the two reasons why 89 was canned. They seem to want to start fresh with a few vets and high upside rookies to mold this offense into their vision. This can only produce a positive result in the long run.
