Kenny Britt visiting Carolina

Yes, but apparently 99.9% of the participants in this thread completely overlooked that post and went on about how we're about to sign him, when clearly it states there was no scheduled visit.

As disappointing as this offseason has been so far, it's extremely frustrating to see people create these stories/rumors themselves and then get pissed off when someone like Britt ends up signing with Buffalo anyway, lol.

Why is keeping him out of trouble the team's problem? Perhaps he should grow up and accept the fact that he's accountable for his own actions. Drunk driving is a big deal to me, so is "buzzed" driving.

Perhaps I should grow up? Lol.

Drunk driving is a big deal.....I  definitely agree with that.  Why should we help him with his problem?  Because he's a talented player we need his services.

I'm not saying it's right to drive buzzed.  I'm not advocating that crap.  I'm just saying most people have done it....especially in their early 20's they just didn't get caught.  If I had a nickel for every young kid smoking a blunt in a cheaply modified early 90's civic hatchback I'd be a rich guy.

I think you guys should grow up....and quit condemning the mistakes of an early 20's NFL player, and see if he's matured. If he hasn't don't sign him.

I need to grow up because I'd prefer to forgive the guy and see if he's learned from his mistakes.  Huddle logic.

Cam stole laptops at Florida....maybe we should have told him to fug off too.

Britt is a TOTAL teardown and rebuild. Late last season he "got" what can only be described as the golf equivalent of the "yippes". He dropped numerous passes including ones that went thru his hands and hit him in the head. They finally sat him down for the rest of the year. You never know when a youngster matures, but until now Britt has not taken his profession seriously, put in the time and effort or showed the discipline to be successful. Everything he has done has been on athletic ability and now that seems to have diminished. The only reason to think anything would change here is the signing of Cotchery. He is the consummate professional and could be mentor Britt needs IF he is willing to grow up. It's his last chance.

I think Britt realizes that Carolina provides an opportunity to rehab his value.  No matter where he goes, it will probably be a 1 year deal.  Cotchery a good 3rd wide receiver, especially in the red zone.  Tiquan Underwood was just signed by the Panthers, but he has had opportunity in the past and not really ran with it.  The Panthers really need Oline help too.

Where did I say YOU need to grow up? I'm talking about Britt. By getting him a ride I think you become an enabler and you're on a slippery slope there.

I also said in another post that they should bring him in and IF they feel he has really moved past this stage then make him an offer.

I'm all for forgiveness, but you can't take that kind of gamble unless you're absolutely sure.

not every player with a bad history is an automatic bad fit..  just depends on what his cap hit will be through a 1 year deal and if he's come to terms with maturing to do what it takes to stay focused and perfect his craft.

I would take a flyer on him if the cap hit is low on a 1 year deal and if he royally fugs up (or has matured but gets injured) then cutting him is a non-issue..

Lol....I feel a douche bag now.  Sorry Joat......mistakes is mine I definitely read your last response to fast man.  You said "perhaps he should show up."  For some reason I read it too fast and thought you said "perhaps you should grow up."

Unintentional troll I swear.

Let's deal with facts first. As Britt wrapped up Friday's visit with the Buffalo Bills, he told reporters he was "probably headed out to Carolina."

"Not too sure," he said. "Just waiting for my agent to call me and let me know."

The Panthers signed Pittsburgh free agent Jerricho Cotchery on Thursday and Tampa Bay's Tiquan Underwood on Friday. Of the two, Cotchery at best is a No. 2 receiver.

Carolina is trying to replace its top four receivers from last season. All-time leading receiver Steve Smith was released and the other three were lost in free agency.

Britt, the 30th overall pick of the 2009 draft out of Rutgers, doesn't fit criteria of a No. 1 receiver. He's never caught more than 45 passes in a season, and he is coming off a career-worst 11 catches for 96 yards this past season.

While he might fit in the category of bargains that general manager Dave Gettleman is seeking, his troubled past could be a factor for a team that has avoided such players in the past.

Per his Wikipedia article:

" Kenneth Lawrence Britt[1] (born September 19, 1988) is an American football wide receiver who is currently on a visit with the Buffalo Bills."

Who the fug edits Wikipedia to talk about the team a player is visiting?
