Kenny Britt visiting Carolina

His agent also says his main priority is playing time... Which is why I don't think a deal gets done, or possibly even offered. If it was, it's likely he already would've signed, because he isn't going to get anymore playing time or opportunities than he will here.

That seems like it would increase our chances

That was my point - it would seem that way...  But, if it was, he would already have signed.  I'm guessing we aren't going to bring him in for a visit, or we do and don't actually make a formal offer.

Yeah well see though, he's been doing his rounds this whole offseason so seems like he wants to visit places before he signs

Agree with the sentiment that if Smitty was exiled due to "distractions", I don't understand Britt being signed. Different kind of distraction, yes, but Smitty is a warrior that puts his heart on his sleeve and the team on his back. Britt seems more diva/alpha IMO. That being said, in watching some clips of Britt, when he is on....whew, Beast mode!! Dude has a prototype physique, hands, confidence and route runner. He, Matthews, Cotchery, Herron, and Olsen would be fun to watch Cam play with.

I think this would be a great sign at the right price. He may be a head case but I think its worth the risk. My only fear is if we sign Britt, we won't go receiver in the 1st rd. when clearly that should be our first priority if there is a good one left on the board. We need help on the O-line but Britt or Cotchery are not the answer for the #1 receiver spot.

I think we still go WR in the first, at the very least the second.  If we signed Britt it would be on a one year deal.  IF he out performs his contract (which would be awesome) he'd be looking for more money next season.  Draft a WR in the first ensures that we have affordable talent at the position for the foreseeable future.    Same scenario with DJAX.  We'd be in much better position to absorb the turnover next season.  Brit may however eliminate the need for a guy like Benjamin though.

I'd fap in whitey tighties if we had

Desean Jackson

Cooks/Benjamin

Cotchery

Brit.

That's a massive upgrade.....that would have us all saying "smitty who?"

I'm impressed with Gettleman.  Guy has a plan.

Agreed that he, Nicks and Sanders were the closest to a #1 WR in this FA class. On a prove it deal, we really just need to surround Cam with weapons, and Britt would be a big target on the outside. I'm not a fan of Britt's personality, but maybe it's just taken him longer to mature after bring benched last season. Most guys with his past go the way of Koren Robinson, Pac Man Jones, and Titus Young, or turn it around like Brandon Marshall and keep their nose clean.

Vick killed dogs.  He's turned out alright.
