I came here so ready to say, "Fug Eric Davis!" Quite the surprise to see that he made a positive point. Normally E.D. will  throw the Panthers under the bus. It is rare to here him say that he even played here. The other host on the NFL AM show normally have to pull it out of him. Screw it I still don't like him. Fug Eric Davis!!!

I'm thinking that we said that Olsen is our number one receiver, and that we would get some WRs in the draft (if we're speaking about the same segment). He was pretty optimistic that Cam would be ready in time for camp, and that as long as Cam had time to practice with his new receiving corps---not necessarily in a preseason game---then we would be fine.

 

I don't remember him saying that we are building our passing game around Olsen, or that we don't need topnotch receivers. I guess I could be wrong, I was working.  Olsen is more than likely a default stop-gap measure right now that will be ripe to be cut next off season if we can't work something out. 

 

It would be akin to a little crazy for someone to say that we don't need some top-notch receivers (unless they are only referring to FA, possibly).

Frank Garcia (former Panthers center) on WFNZ , is the one that really ticks me off because he throws out  verbage,in his all knowing style, that is way out in left field concerning the Panthers.

Today  on "Feel Like Busting Loose",Garcia contended the Panthers could and should, find the money (restructure,etc) to jump into the free agent market and start signing players. What the big dummy doesn't realize is restructing contracts only moves money  to a later date,a problem the Panthers are already  dealing. with.

Garcia and a couple of other WFNZ Boozos fail to realize or conviently forget, we have to get our cap manageable to sign Cam,Luke and several more young core players shortly.

There is no way we need to go on the present overpriced free agent market and start spending money we can't afford and throw caution to the wind.

 

Exactly. Plus you cant get the same guys with the bad contracts to restructure every year! That is how Gman cleared up last years mess. Restructure doesnt even mean to take less money! Most times its more money in the long run! G-Man I trust! No more BS Contracts here in Carolina!

I heard Davis on NFL AM this morning talking about the Panthers lack of quality starting receivers, and he really wasn't too concerned. He said Rivera and Co are building the passing game around Olsen, and that the receivers we have really don't need to be top notch. Also said to trust Gettleman, the guy knows what he's doing.

We added Olsen on day 1 of training camp in '11!  See June first cuts and Draft cuts are still to come! Chill People! I am sick of People like Chris Mcclain A.K.A "Mac Attack" Taking to the airwaves and spewing needless BS! The Hosts on WFNZ are clueless fans with a mic! I totally agree with the points but at the same time I think this is the stuff that moves the needle for radio sports talk show, especially local ones, so it helps to fuel the fires a bit. Granted we have March madness but NFL is the 500 lb gorilla. The Panther's offseason has been extremely newsworthy and controversial. These guys and the stations would be fools not to slurp this up. No matter what, I take what these guys say with a huge tablespoon (not grain) of salt.

We're centering our passing attack on our TE...when he will be the guy who gets doubled next season due to lack of quality WRs on the outside that command the respect and draw that double team.
