Travelle Wharton not retiring

Travelle Wharton is not a journeyman or below average player. He isn't an all pro but he is a quality starter.

With Cam Newton under center that's all we need. 5 quality guys. They don't even have to be great. He's not Manning of Brady, he doesn't need a SF online. Just above average that can give him some time. Just serviceable and dependable. Wharton is that.

LT/Silotalu/Kalil/Wharton/RT

That's a solid interior line.

As much as we all hate it, Bell will be at RT or LT next year. It's something we all must come to accept.

His mom lives in Fountain Inn and he hails from Greenville area, so i'm positive he'll stay. I'd rather plug at guard and draft an OT.

Hakeem Nicks is from Charlotte, so I'm positive we can sign him ...... oh wait.  N/M

Isn't Greenville about as close to Atlanta as Charlotte?  I'm positive Wharton will sign with the Falcons.  :phew:

We've gotten so thoroughly sloppy if we're celebrating a journeyman free agent guard and below replacement level tackle saying he's not going to retire. This team is so bipolar. At our positions of strength, we're viciously strong. At our positions of weakness, we're incomparably weak. Our DE, DT, LB, QB units are so incredibly talented and our DB, WR, OL so devastatingly weak that it's annoying that we haven't course corrected.

Journeyman?

The Vikings are considering him according to various Google results. We've probly not even contacted him.

Lol Rodeo ......... You know we almost have to bring him back either for depth or for an emergency left tackle. It looks like a rookie will be watching Cam's blind side so we need Travelle just in case the rookie gets mentally shell shocked. Confidence is a must.

Wharton has had offers to come visit teams but he has declined. He is waiting on Gettleman. He knows an offer will come if he is patient.

best Oline news this off season... Gross was becoming cancerous to the oline players in the locker room. I guess because he hangs with Steve Smith.

*twisted sarcasm*

According to Gettleman from an unknown source, "Gross was acting in a heinous manner towards the other players in the locker room and to keep from hindering Cam's leadership and having a situation similar to that of the Dolphins' with Incognito and Martin, we said that we wouldn't take him back so he decided to retire. Steve has had a great career on the field, but he was really a sore in the locker room, he had to go. We are now evaluating Thomas Davis and DeAngelo Williams."

Wharton would add depth. He would be a solid guard, but OT has proven not to be his strength.

Look for us to draft an OT. There is also Donald Penn out there as well. If the market settles and he is there, perhaps he could be a short term option.
