I actually suggested this very scenario on my twitter a while back. Moore is a talented receiver and would do quite well with Newton. He's also still under a rookie contract, so he's not expensive.

So, this all makes too much sense. It will surely never happen.

This kind of thread is what message boards are for... discussion among fans about hypotheticals and such. But, with the way everything has unfolded this offseason, I just don't even want the idea put in my head. It's not going to happen.

This is exactly what I was thinking minus the 2nd. Raiders probably wouldn't give up a 2nd. Hell, I'd be fine with just the player trade as long as it means we get rid of that 13 mil tag. Anything else is just icing.

You are going to trade a player you valued as one of the best in the league for a player who might not even be wanted by his current team? Straight up? Why even tag Hardy for that matter.

Write this down and repeat it again and again until you believe it. IF, we trade Hardy we will, at minimum, get one 1st rounder and probably a player like Moore.

Why tag him at all if this is your goal to grab a questionable WR? We could have let Hardy walk and used that money for any of the top free agents we could have used.

Agree. Reggie McKenzie is trying to recoup the draft pick he gave up for Matt Schaub.

I would be happy if we gave up a 5th for him but I would also be ok if we just kept all our draft picks for once.

6th I'd do in a heartbeat right now.  5th I'd think about.  I don't think I'd pull the trigger on that deal until we were on the clock and saw who was available.  4th?  LOL!

 

We need playmakers in our WR corps, but this guy converts a ridiculously low percentage of his targets into catches and it's not due to the QB situation because his percentage is significantly lower than his teammates'.  He'd be a decent Ginn replacement in the WR corps, but that's about the extent of it.  Likely an upgrade over Ginn as a pure WR, but nowhere near the return threat.  Definitely not a "stud".
