saying no comment is like pleading the fifth. you don't say that unless you have something you don't want to say and that leads to maybe more reading between the lines. it's just a matter of whether you want transparency or not. i mean tact is always something to take into account as well, but either way, you know something unpleasant is on the way and the end result is usually the same.

 

Reading between the lines is generally what the media does anyway. I think no comment is more for the player than the media, they want time to speak behind closed doors. I think most GM's would rather not have things play out through the media if it can be at all avoided.

The kid is an exciting football player. That said. There always seems to be something going on around him. On that basis alone, I would have to pass. Throw in that humungous salary, and he is damm near untouchable.
