Why is Jonathan Stewart Still on this Team?

My point.. if he is "so valuable"  then why the hell cant we trade him.   damn id rather have the roster spot and some vet minimum player that can actually do something.

You're expressing an amazing ignorance of the way the salary cap works.  If he was traded, all the guaranteed money in his contract would still accelerate and hit our cap this year the same as if we cut him.  J. Stew is gonna be here this season and likely next as well.  Even next year, it would still cost us $4M+ to cut/trade him as opposed to having him on the roster.

Can't trade him because of cap hit, same as cutting him. Would cost the team like 18 million to get rid of him.

Because of dead money. C'mon guy. No one said he's valuable, but his accelerated cap hit would raw dawg us to no end.

What team wants to give up something for an expensive injury plaqued RB in today's NFL?

Plus, trading presents similar issues for us as a cut.

But take the hit this year, pay the penaty 1 time for going over cap. an then we are free next year right?   Ill admit i dont know everything about the cap.  just seems to me like the whole cap/contracts situation end up f#%(ing someone..  Hurney should be tied to a tree and covered in fiberglass hardner.

your question was answered before this post.   Do you even read the responses?

I don't mind casual fans stopping by to ask questions, but not reading the answer and posting more is

annoying.
