Should we trade up to grab a high rank WR?

No.  There's really no need to move up in the draft for a WR when this is considered to be one of the deepest positions in this draft.  With the cap issues that we have, I don't think its possible and possibly unreasonable to address all the positions of need this off-season.  We are hamstrung by the $25 million in dead money this year.

Ummm...16 reps at the combine (tied with Watkins) and pssssst...he's an inch taller and a few pounds heavier than Smitty.

Look at Cook's legs. Look at Smith's legs. See the difference? Smith has more muscle mass, and a more stout build. If Smith and Cook locked up on the field Cook would be slammed to the ground. No contest. Smith's center of gravity, his base is his power, but yeah 16 reps at the combine is neat.

Agreed. If we're looking for a Smith duplicate, I'd go Herron out of Wyoming. His game against Texas in 2012 really opened my eyes. Herron is shifty, super fast, great hands and hard to take down. His physique is most similar to smith and if I had to choose Cooks or Herron, I'd go Herron. Go Matthews in the first and Herron in the third.

dont count on trading up that high in the draft,  carolina isnt gonna have the money to spend on top picks every year.  contracts down the road will get expensive.   I see carolina trading down, much like NE does to lower over all contract spending and stock pile picks.  trade down into the 2nd picking up an extra 3rd and have 2x2's and 2x3's and load up on WR and OL.  Brandon Cooks is not the answer.  you need a tall WR in this league now.  Speed isnt a cure all.  Brandon Coleman in the 3rd will be a steal.  dont fug this up Gman.
