I Just talked to James Jones

James jones is a good receiver but I'm afraid he is not, I repeat, is not a #1 receiver. If we bring him here it needs to be on a minimal contract, both time and money, with the understanding that he will be a #2 or #3. We've have waited so long for a true #1 receiver here we will not settle for JJ at that position.

I feel the same way.. But we could have a bunch of #3-6 recievers..... or we could have James Jones who is a solid second option, Cotchery who is a good 3-4th option, and hope that our draft pick can be the #1

Really when you think about it Olsen is our #1 WR

From his Wikipedia page:

"James DeAndre Jones (born March 31, 1984) is an American football wide receiver who currently plays for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL, Las Vegas Demons of the XFL, and the Pittsburgh Power of the AFL. He gets around."

lol.

lol

It's the Las Vegas Outlaws. They're defunct but they probably still have better WRs than we do right now.

With Olsen that is a formidable group. But I seriously hope King and McNutt have real talent because we can't afford to have them be scrubs at this rate. Even if we sign someone.

I am convinced that Gettlemen and Rivera think McNutt and King are ready to compete for the 3, 4, 5 spot.

I am speculating on this, but I wonder if Kealoha Pilares is in the thinking now that Smitty is gone.

Before all the Gettlebashers chime in, we are discussing the 3-5 or 4-6 WR spots.

    • I’ve been holding out on this because I knew I would just be called a homer. I’m sure some will still say I am and that we shouldn’t care about the underwear Olympics without seeing the tape. That being said…. this guy is an absolute freak. 6’3 220, 43” vertical, and 4.38 unofficial 40. And I can tell you I am not surprised in the slightest by following him since he was an under recruited high schooler putting up 232 tackles, 4 sacks, and 8 forced fumbles his senior year of high school (ONE YEAR!). He developed into the leader on the defense and was always the one making clutch plays.  He is going to be the Luke Kuechly for a defense at safety for a decade. I expect some team will draft him top 15, maybe even top 10. I go back and forth on whether you use a top 10 pick on a safety but at the end of the day, I think you pick a superstar no matter what position. I would prefer us get a top pass rusher or maybe even WR but I would be thrilled to land Nick E if we don’t get one of those guys. Would much rather have him over a guy like Jaylon Walker who is super intriguing but doesn’t have the production to back it up.
    • How is this guy still employed by ESPN?  He's probably the worst beat journalist I've ever seen
    • We could also draft a guy of that caliber on a much smaller contract deal.
