Thanks, I would post our text conversation, but I don't think it's necessary. I don't have any reason to lie. I only created this thread because of the speculation that we were interested. I wanted to find out for myself because I would love for him to play for my favorite team.

"Preliminary talks" must mean contacting him without making an offer. I don't understand why you would do that. Why contact someone's agent if you're not prepared to make an offer?

 

Maybe Jones gave them a number they thought was too high so they decided to sit on it and see if he'd come down on his asking price in a week or so?

I see it this way:  If Jones is our #1, we better have some strong #2 and #3 WRs.  Imagine Jones, Brandin Cooks, Jericho Cotchery, King, and McNutt.  That is pretty solid my friends---No superstars, but a blend of talent and skill---and we won't break the bank to do it.

With Olsen that is a formidable group. But I seriously hope King and McNutt have real talent because we can't afford to have them be scrubs at this rate. Even if we sign someone.
