i remember posting about james jones last year or the year before about him being a guy we should look at in FA.

 

Rook mentioned he was friends with him and that he seriously doubted he would want to come here.

So I just talked to him and asked him if the Panthers had contacted him. The Panthers have contacted him, but have not made him an offer.

I didn't know him back then. I'm from SC and I graduated high school in 2004. After high school I moved to CA to play football at a Juco.  At the Juco I went to, I met one of his best friends. That's how I got introduced to him. Been friends ever since.

I want him to play for CAR, but at the end of the day thats my friend. He's got to do whats best for him and his family. My other friends are trying to persuade him to play for SD, SF, and OAK lol

Rook- could you ask him if he's heard anything about the Panthers from recently departed players that would make him question signing here? Does the Smith situation have any effect on signing FA's?
