I'm reading the comments in some of the articles on this subject.  Panthers fans whining about gutting our receiver core and signing "scrubs" while Steeler fans are hoping to resign him.  Sure puts a lot of fans into perspective.  This is a guy who can be a solid contributor and won't break the bank.

consistent-vet-good hands-when he's been needed, he steps up.  An ideal 3 imo and could fill a Proehl-type role for us.

Just thought i would add that lance Moore has a visit to the steelers Monday per nfl sources so I guess there keeping there options open with regards bringing him back, so maybe we can make Cotchery a good offer before they do.

Cotchery as a #3 and I'm happy. He's pretty nice in the Red Zone if I'm not mistaken as well...something we could use.

Cotchery is perhaps the most underrated third receiver in the league over the last few years. He regularly makes big plays, is a reliable possession receiver and dominates the middle of the field, an absolute must for a team like the Panthers who are in need of a good third receiver.Here's hoping we can sign him for a reasonable amount of money.

I like Cotchery at #3 and Jones at #2....if it happens...I just don't see us going after Jones which bothers me a bit.  Our #1 WR is in the draft...I just hope we can find an AJ or Julio type of guy who can play in year 1 at a high level.
