because they were on the team last year and they barely got any playing time.

look I think they can be serviceable, maybe in time even reach lafell's level of production, but the reality is we actually wanted to see improvement.

and those two alone is not improvement.

but I think we'll pick some people up and really do better than people expect, better than last year even, on offense.

Victor Cruz 1st year- 3 games, N/A

Victor Cruz 2nd year- 16 games, 82 Rec 1,536 Yd 9 TD

G-Man knows what he is doing. If he thinks one of those guys will emerge, so be it.

That's a separate topic. MY point was that the dude didn't say McNutt would be Cruz.

Why the hell bring it up then when referring to McNutt or King then?

I mean, I think we can argue over something better than this, it's obvious what he meant.

Can you read? He brought it up cuz the other poster said since they didn't play much, they aren't good. He brought up Cruz as an example to show that might not be the case.

That is not the same as saying he is (next)Cruz.

I must be reading a completely different post then. I disagree. Moving on.....

I may not have agreed with every move Gettleman has made so far, but frankly I find it hard to believe that he would enter the season with little more than a few rookies, and the hope that McNutt, and or King could elevate themselves to the level of Cruz without any veterans.

Yeah, every UDFA WR is going to become Victor Cruz now.

Both were drafted. King was drafted by Broncos in the 5th, and McNutt in the 6th by Philly. McNutt had a stellar college career at Iowa. In his senior season he broke Iowas single season td and receiving yrds record. This is all the more impressive when you consider that McNutt came out of high school as qb.

They've been with the panthers since oct 2013. Considering that neither has participated in any panthers OTAs, mini camps, or training camp, they were not brought in to contribute last season. I'm not sure about King, but McNutt seems promisiny IMHO.

Drafted, undrafted, I understand your point. Fact is, there is little to nothing to go on them in regards to the NFL. We're stuck basically watching their college highlights just like we are the potential draft prospects for the upcoming draft in May. We need some veteran talent in here.

I strongly agree with the veteren sentiment. I still think there are viable options left to land 1 or 2 proven vets.
