My opinion? Do I think he's better than Lafell? No. But that doesn't mean he can't be

I know I am beating a dead horse but don't forget about about Tavarres King.

This guy was a 5th round pick that the Broncos was trying to keep on their active roster because Carolina and Green Bay were trying to get him and fortunately Carolina snatched him from the Broncos.

He was a pretty good receiver at UGA. I say don't rule him out as a possible #2 or #3 guy

@sportsclt: The #panthers staff also really likes Kealoha Pilares. He's certainly had time to sit back and study the last few years.

From the little I've seen, it looks like his ceiling is a reliable #2. Good hands and ability to make tough catches and decent route running.

He lacks that explosion of a #1 and I'm not sure how well he'll do v press coverage and route running could be better.

I think DG/Ron has seen that in him and will give him a chance to prove himself. King as well.

Nobody here can tell you if a McNutt is better than Lafell.

Since this guy is now our no. 1 WR anyone have any info/opinions on this guy other than he converted from QB to WR?

Sounds like he's a big, athletic target but needs to work on his route running. Also, is a non-factor on special teams (from everything I've read).

Will he have a breakout year? Is he better than LaFell?

I applaud you in this attempt at real discussion over what the Panthers actually have. I don't know what to say about it, so I'll just wish you and your thread good luck.
